...I don't know if you get the CW station...but it was on that station, I always watch all those shows on there while I work out in my 100 degree room...

So who watched Jeopardy today? Final Jeopardy.

Oh man... I usually watch Jeopardy (at least the final question) but I missed it today? Was there a TLK reference? What was the clue?

I remember a couple years ago for kids week they had a set of clues taped by the Clue Crew from The Lion King on Broadway theater (I believe it was still the New Amsterdam) in New York City, that was really cool!

Here are some pictures from that episode, shown are Jimmy and Carol of the Clue Crew giving the clues on stage:

Answer: This "Lion King" song tells us "the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky keeps great and small on the endless round"

Question: What is "Circle of Life?"

Answer: It's a memorable moment in "The Lion King" when this baby lion cub is presented to the world atop Pride Rock

    Question: Who is Simba?

(She even looks like she could play Rafiki!)

Answer: Many of the costumes and sets in "The Lion King" were inspired by the art of this continent, where the show is set

    Question: What is Africa?

Answer: The title of this famous song from "The Lion King" means "no worries" and it's Timon and Pumbaa's motto

    Question: What is "Hakuna Matata?"

Question: In the stage version of "The Lion King", Zazu is no birdbrain--he's the aide-de-camp to this lion, Simba's father (Zazu squawks "Aide-de-camp!")

    Answer: Who is Zazu?

    ---

Quite easy questions, but remember these are fifth and sixth graders!

just when i was about to go to the lappy The Simpsons started on the TV and i saw a quick view of the TLKoB sign outside the theater there. It was a musical about Itchy and Scratchy, and they played the whole Circle of Life song with own text (Circle of Knife), and the whole scene was so TLKoBish XD .. Pics :

    Category: Theatre Around the World

    Answer:

This Swahili phrase has been said or sung more than 450,000 times in theatres all over the world

    (scroll down for answer)

    :knowdees:

    What is Hakuna Matata?

Good question! If I had watched the show and seen that category I would only guess that the question would be about TLKoB.

At least 1 of the 3 players got it right... and it was the smart one. The other two answered "Bravo" and "Kumbaya"!

There are a lot of words in the English language that are Swahili or based on Swahili, but "bravo", isn't one of them. I felt bad for the girl. I really didn't want that one kid to win. He seemed snobby.

Exactly my point. Well, not everyone is obsessive (or at least knowledgeable) as we are.

There's a Walmart here that has one of those things that kids can ride on for 50 cents shaped like Pumbaa. I freaked out when I walked in and saw it. It plays some weird generic song that sounds vaguely like Hakuna Matata. I'm going to try to go over there again this weekend and take some pictures.

People at the zoo always make references to Pumbaa when they see our Visayan pigs and our Babirusas. I don't bother to tell them he's neither of these species...And they seem to get it right when they say, "Rafiki!" at the Mandrills and "OMG TIMON!" at the meerkats. Too bad I won't be around when they "bring back" the Lions (AKA moveable pieces of living furniture) for the Simba references...

I just got back from Spain (tis why i have been so absent latest 10 days XD) and over there i saw lots of TLK things. For one thing statues and CoL music, i also watched Chicken Little for the first time and the intro there had the TLK sun, and while reading a book (yes believe it or not but im reading a book on 300 pages about a complicated murder! ) it said "she put the baby in bed and turned on The Lion King on the TV for the older kid, just to make sure she would be alone in the kitchen with her husband to take the abuse he gave her" .. I was like Woot! XD Nice choise.

I have a Pumbaa Ride at my Walmart Neighborhood Market.
Some dance group was doing a dance to Grasslands Chant (?) on the last epi of 'So You Think\Dance"

Here is the surprisingly addictive 'Simpsons' parody of TLKoB: http://youtube.com/watch?v=leSR1z_aeLU

Note that a non-existant play starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick is advertised on a marquee

Hmm, one car I parked today had that Ultimate Disney album on the stereo, and CoL was playing when I was driving it.
