"Ersef? That was my brother's name!" She bounded around the confused cub playfully. "Wanna play tag?" She flicked her own red tail.
"Ersef? That was my brother's name!" She bounded around the confused cub playfully. "Wanna play tag?" She flicked her own red tail.
"Uh..." was all Taka could get out as he slumped on his back paws. He had played tag with his brother before, but he usually didn't play with the other cubs.
Merra waved her tail, still enthusiastic. The breeze rustled her fringe, a strange long growth of fur which covered her eyes.
"Who are you?" Taka at finally found his voice. Why was this cub talking to him?
"Oh SILLY me. My name's Merra!" She replied. She waited eagerly for his reply, but one ear twitched as she noticed a butterfly in the corner of one of her veiled eyes.
"I'm Prince Taka" he said with a highly dignified voice as he puffed out his chest.
"Oooooooooooo" She ooed. "That's cool. So do you wanna play or not?" She smiled, showing sabre-like fangs unusual for her personality.
Taka sighed to himself, and went down into a prowl shape, bringing his legs to the ground. He gave a playful growl, waiting to see the other cubs reaction.
Merra's grin widened, and she too brought her legs to the ground.
Taka lunged at the cub, toppling over her back, and fell to the ground behind her.
Merra giggled with glee, and whipped round to pin Taka.
Taka tried to jump up, but was pinned back down before he could. He snarled, anger rising in his voice. He had lost...again.
Merra's expression softened and she licked him, then getting off.
Pure shock went over his face as she licked him. He stood up, and glared at her before asking,"What was that for?"
"'Cause you're my best friend!" She purred, then she suddenly became shy, something very unusual for her.
"You don't even know me" he said half laughing. Besides that, his only friends were the other cubs of the pride, and even they got on his nerves.
"Oh don't I?" She purred mysteriously, circling him. Her eyes seemed to flash behind their curtain of fur.
Taka backed away, smiling with a confused look in his eyes at the misterious cub.
She returned the smile warmly, then sat down to lick her paws.
"Where are you from?" he at finally asked. He'd been wondering where this wierd little cub had come from.
