    Lion King Sightings!

The Lion King has become a part of culture, let's face it. Because of that, TLK pops up on TV, in movies, books, and various other places. This thread is the place to share those sightings.

First TLK sighting of this thread!

This is what Leor and I spotted today in the 99p store:

We both agreed that it looks somewhat like it's been inspired from this picture of Simba. At least that's what the pose suggests. If it weren't for Leor, I wouldn't have even spotted it. He has a good eye for detail.

Lea members I've had the pleasure of meeting in person: Sharifu, Sadiki, This Land, Nathalie, Lucy, Lion King Stu, Taneli, KanuTGL, Shadow, Revo and Leorgathar

    I'm double posting.

They've got Geno Segers (a former TLKoB Mufasa) saying "You're the one true king!" in the promo for the new Pair of Kings (Which he's on also) episode this week. I don't know, it made me laugh.

And also, this is a commercial airing during Dinosaur which features TWO former original TLKoB cast members. Sam Wright and Max Casella.

    It's a TLKoB smorgasbord!

    Oh, Obama

Here's what I spotted in the new Cracked Photoshop contest, "If Classic Movies Were Remade by Michael Bay":

Hah, what a step forward on being a humble president.

    Way to go President Obama.

Does this inspired by The Lion King?

It's from a Masters of the Universe new line, Masters of the Universe Classics.

What am i stuck in the Matrix while my true heart belongs to the Lion Kings?

    Hahaha, wow, that was fantastic

I laughed especially hard at how he pointed out to the Fox news table that it was a joke

Obama makes a great comedian. And yes, I like how he pointed out to Fox news that it was all a joke. It made me laugh too.

Now that is just creepy. But I've gotta say that the make-up is really well done.

Now that would be even creepier. At least make-up/face paint is able to be washed off.

Was looking for a video for one of the other threads and came across MST3K talking about The Lion King!

    The nostalgia critic is great.

I shared these before on the old Lea, but I'll share them here again. These are from a Lion King show I saw at the hotel when I was staying in the Dominican Republic last year:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hApOcwqU0Ow
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfAGHpbEwHQ
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX_sH2TRvoM

Pumbaa looks as though he's about to give birth. And Nala is missing from that last clip.

Here's a better clip from the show that I just found:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLOc9...eature=related

    Just thought I'd share.

I can't stop laughing at that pumbaa costume, it's so bad, haha. The broadway show is definitely better
