    Animated Short Films

I've been wondering, where's the love for short animated movies?

Of course, there's the well known shorts from Pixar that are shown before any of their movies, everyone gets to see those, but what about the tons of independent films and animation student projects on Youtube? there are many really good ones

I'll start with one of my top favourites:

Crayon Dragon - by Toniko Pantoja

I really like Crayon Dragon. Beautiful animation, and the score is superb, but also because of its powerful message addressed to artists. It's just that good

Have you seen a good animated short film (2D, 3D, Stop motion, funny, dramatic, etc) and want to share it? here's where

Oh let me tell you, sometimes I go hours doing nothing else than browsing animation shorts online. There are some really great ones out there. Here are a few gems:

Timber is a fun one with great, expressive character animation and music.

Mau is a bit more somber, focusing on the plot. Be sure to watch until the end.

The last one I'll give, Kung Fu Cooking, has great fight choreography and is quite funny aswell. Beware of somewhat suggestive animation. Turn on captions if you want it in English.

And I just found this: The Butterfly Dragon. Very atmospheric in its simplicity, with good anatomy and music to go with the lovely animation style.

This is quite a short one, but it's quite funny. It's called "Rollin' Wild" for a reason.

I just love "Rolling Wild". That reminds me of the time I was pregnant with my little daughter.
Back then I could so relate to the cheetah and the crocodile

Rollin' Wild... that was hillarious I love The Butterfly Dragon as well, so mesmerizing Speaking of dragons...

Here's Reversal of the Heart, which I found quite good. Great facial expressions and moving story.

Now, I'm also a fan of stop motion animation. It's amazing how much dedication can be put into these, and watching the "behind the scenes" of each one, you become even more aware of that.
This one is called The Maker. The puppet's design is kinda creepy, but I love it nonetheless

Oh,Rollin'Wild...That is amazing.I loved the cheetah chase.. XD

The butterfly dragon is beautiful indeed. The animation is good, also the backgrounds, for such a rough copy. And the music matches well...It's magical,as it aims to be.

I've enjoyed lots of short animated films while killing time on youtube and even though not the most impressive, this one is still among my favorite ones...

Yeah, it's really amazing! When you read though the comments you'll see how the artist has deeply influenced others. That's just great to see!

^ Everyone's rollin' wild after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
