Kiara didn't even need to open her eyes to tell it was morning already. The distinct scent of the dew that captured the light in its grasp, and made it dance and dapple across the land, cut through the fresh air like a spear.
She let one blood red orb identify the formless shapes in front of her, her blurred vision rapidly diminishing, revealing nothing but the cave and the pride lioness's.

She yawned, her fangs glinting amongst the dim lighting of the den. They would be sinking deep into soft warm flesh later, and it was important that they be spotless until then.
Careful to mind the heads, tails and paws of her pride members as she walked through the stirring lions, she spotted her son, awake, and looking as lively as ever.

She nudged Kivoru softly with the tip on her nose.

"Good morning my little Kivo" She said quietly; intentional of course, for that greeting was meant for her son only, as that was the nickname she used whenever she talked to him.

She lifted her head to her mate, and licked his cheek affectionately.

"Morning to you aswell Kovu, going out on patrol early as usual this morning?"

She knew the answer to this question rarely changed, but it was always on the tip of her tongue each morning, almost as if were needed to be asked.
