The Lion King Score and Soundtrack

Zimmer lets the listener down a little with the climactic 'King of Pride Rock': Synthesizers are more obvious during the dark final confrontation (Dies Irae included)

Apparently the song Dies Irae are the main inspiration for the Simba and Scar Confrontation.

He used synths for quite a lot of the soundtrack, it's more obvious in some pieces than others...

I never would have expected that, I'll have to listen harder next time..but seriously, that's like saying The Prodigy use folk instruments

    And what if they did

In all seriousness though, the score for TLK is truly amazing, there's some very moving pieces of music. And I think it's good that the synthesisers aren't so obvious. It wouldn't quite be right I don't think.

Well he was a New Wave/Post Punk Keyboardist back in the days so there's no shocking that he use Synthesizer on his score.

[Watch Video Killed a Radio Star on 2:57]

Unrelated and off topic video, except for The Lion King reference after the Stampede.

This hymn are one of the main inspiration for the somber and sad emotion in the film, especially when Simba remember and mentioning his father.

But the crucial part of the Ave Verum Corpus are on 2:30 where there's an obvious reference on the main theme of Mufasa's Death!

This is Ave Verum Corpus by Mozart!

Without even reading what you posted Guntur, I was thinking the exact same thing about 2:30... and if you listen to "...To Die For" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCO8l2CaZaA and jump to 2:44 you'll definitely hear it

    It's so beautiful.
