I watched Holy Grail and loved it xD I didn't like The Meaning Of Life that much o_O And I have yet to see that Brian one, I've heard from other sources that it isn't good.
It's a British comedy group that did humorous TV programs and movies in the... 1970s, I guess? There were John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Graham Chapman.Originally posted by Kovu

So... what is this Monty Python thing?
The TV episodes were 30 mins long, and their name was "Monty Python's Flying Circus". The most popular Python movie is the "Holy Grail" one. Then there are at least "Meaning of Life" (haven't seen) and "Life of Brian".
Because they're a little old movies/shows, in some jokes the tempo is quite slow, in my opinion. But the more times you watch them, the more you fall in love with them
Their first film was And Now For Something Completely Different.
yeah i love em all got the whole set on DVD its funny

hehe... SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM...
Monty Python is hilarious, I don't quite understand, how they could come up with so many useless, hilarious jokes, it's brilliant!!!
That which you manifest is before you.
I recently have seen Monty Python's Spamalot. A very new musical on Broadway. It is still in previews and only in New York City. But! if you live anywhere near NYC you MUST, i repeat MUST, go and see this.
It is soooooooooooooo funny/hiliarious. I was falling off the edge of my seat.
I think I saw an ad for Spamalot in adelaide, so if I've got the money, i may go and see it.
That which you manifest is before you.
I'm a loser because I've never seen it.
sorry to bring back an old thread, but I just saw "Life of Brian" and I thought it was one of the most funniest movies I ever saw!
We saw that in our Catholic class ... A new perspective on the way things happened, haha.
Love Monty Pyton, always such a pleasure to see John Cleese acting.

Yeah, Monty Python is great.
Slightly on topic, since everyone here seems to be quite the Python fan, I was wondering if anyone here's a fan of Terry Gilliam (for those who don't know, he was the member of Python who went on to become a filmmaker, and he made quite a few bizarre and hilarious films). Unfortunately, one of his newer films, an adaptation of Don Quixote, fell apart during production. There's a documentary about this (Lost In La Mancha) which I watched. It was heartbreaking, as Don Quixote is my favourite novel, and the small amount of what Terry managed to film of it looked really promising. But he has stated that the only thing that's going to stop him from eventually making the film is death, so there's hope that it'll be finished some day...
I guess I got kind of carried away with this post. Anyway, look for Terry Gilliam's performance as King Arthur's squire/servant ("It's only a model") in The Holy Grail.
