Star Trek legend, Leonard, "Spock" Nimoy, dead at 83

Don't know how many Trek fans we have here, but it truly a the end of an era. I am saddened to announce that Leonard Nimoy, famous for bringing life to the half-Vulcan pop culture icon, Mr. Spock, has passed away after a long illness.

Nimoy was hospitalized earlier this week due to complications from "chronic obstructive pulmonary disease", a condition of the lungs caused from years of smoking.

In a fitting last comment to his fans, Spock tweeted 3 days ago, "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP".

All I can say is that Nimoy lived his catchphrase to the end- he "Lived long and prospered".

    RIP

Our time on this planet is precious, and can be snuffed out at any moment. Every second of every day should mean something.

As this happens, I will take my consideration to cut down my cigarettes intake.

Oh man I'm no Trekkie myself, far from being one. But I still knew Nimoy was an awesome and very loved actor. I liked him in Fringe. His last words to his fans sure were very touching, and true.
