Isn't this the same as memorial day in the USA? In that case it is the last weekend in May.
In canada, It's on the second weekend of November, so it's also called memorial weekend.

In Australia it's called Rememberance Day and it's on the 11th of November, on the 11th minute, of the 11th hour, of the 11th month, we have one minutes silence and we usually have a service at school for it and someone recits the poem "In Flander's Fields" and then someone plays that war rememberance song on a bugle! Well that's what used to happen at my old school anyway! I thought it was nice.

Here in Canada, they call it Remembrance Day, it's on November 11th.We also have an assembly at school on that day...:P The assembly usually starts a 1:33PM

yes, there are drugs (cant remember which one specifically) that are made out of poppies. thats why in the wizard of oz dorothy fell asleep in the field of poppies, it was a drug reference
