Poems

Bonjour

I was deeply interested in wheither or not there might be a poet or two or three that might have a unique poem that they can share. I am afraid I have encoutered writters block and am staring helplessly at the page. It would be much appreciated.

I realize this is the wrong section to ask for poetry so I shall give out all my compliments to everyone to make up for my folly.

I've written a few poems that I really like. Here's one from a few years ago that involved a very bad day:

The Horrible, Terrible Day

I know you've had some bad days
But for me, this was the worst
I felt that all my luck was gone
And that I was inevitably cursed

My morning was deceiving
I woke up and thought all was well
But after my dad shut off my server
It all tumbled down to hell

Then my mom told me to get ready
That seemed to cheer me some
I thought we were going out to lunch
And maybe see a movie then for fun

I cleaned my room and dusted
Then took a shower and got dressed
But my parents left without me
Though I shook it off at best

They were gone for quite some time
But mom said it was just the store
It was seven and they weren't home
Eventhough they'd left at four

I decided to watch a movie
Because my amigos weren't online
Then at 8 mom and dad walked in
Which sent shivers done my spine

They paraded around with many bags
From Target, grocery store, and mall
I was so mad they'd left me at home
But they didn't apologize at all

I had needed to get some things
Like drinks, body wash and snacks
"But you can get those tomorrow,"
Droned my mom just like a fax

I heaved a sigh and then found out
Pizza would be tonight's meal
Thus we didn't go get Greek
Eventhough my parents had made a deal

Returning to my room just then
I saw that Rob had come back
I talked to him for quite some time
Until my connection was jacked

This time it was my father
Who, without even telling me
Dared to reload his computer
To keep my own internet-free

Angered and oh, so angry
I just sat there on my own
Staring at my dad who
Had Hewlett Packard on the phone

I don't think it was broken, though
I think he messed with it on purpose
Because while he talked for hours
With them, he didn't even look nervous

I took some time out for drawing
To calm me when I was feeling rough
But this even was royally screwed
Because my markers had dried up

The picture didn't look good, either
When I tried to colour it, see
So I just cried with the mishap
And stared at it pitifully

It must have been past midnight
When with the computer my dad gave in
And set up his own work laptop
While unhooking his PC, then

He configured all the settings
So I couldn't open up my ports
Because heaven forbid I have a server
So he can play his games of course

At least I could still talk
And download files, too
But twenty minutes later
That connection fell through

The laptop had frozen
But when I dared tried to restart
It just laughed back at me
Like this ingenious work of art

Thank god my dad got beeped then
Because he woke up from his sleep
I waited until he fixed the laptop
Without even making a single peep

It took him several minutes
But then it was again connected
I rushed to get online once more
So my matters were not neglected

After many tears of woe
And saying heated, pissy things
I thought it'd all be over
But again, the laptop was deranged

It froze for the second time
So, mad and pissed beyond belief
I pressed on the laptop every key
And button to release my grief

It didn't work, unfortunately
That frozen startup screen laughed again
I told myself I hated laptops
And that PCs were my true friends

I banged it, I pulled out plugs
And felt around for more
But that startup screen remained paused
Like it had 20 minutes before

"I give up this time;
you win, you ugly, black notebook,"
I snapped to the vicious thing
And even gave it a fatal look

Slumping into a leather couch then
I cried all my hatred away
While reminiscing about the events
Of this horrible, terrible day

I have a few poems. It's not much but, here's one:

Dreams may come and dreams will go.
Where they go? I don't know,
Maybe by a bustling brook.
Or written in an ancient book.
Maybe falling from above.
Or flying around like a dove.
Running through the muck and mire.
Burning wild like a fire?
Hiding under redwood trees?
Blowing with the summer breeze.
In the minds of young and old?
I don't know, it's best untold.
But dreams will come and dreams may go.

Edit: Btw, I made that poem in 7th grade so that explains for it being so blah

Edit, again: Forgot to say, that that is a very nice poem Sarabi ^^

*swoons* :woeisme: My dear Nuka, that is very much a Robert Frost style poem! I love it, it is so wispy and calming. You are very talented!
:Ooo:

This is a poem I wrote that... well, has received plenty of comments. Mainly, because so many people can relate to it.

(By the way, Shakira Asaal is a fictional character that I created for X-Files MUCK.)

Shakira Asaal

It began as a run in
Behind the basurero
A man was hiding there
With sharp clothes of negro

He surprised me, and I flinched
Then he spoke in a tongue
Of a foreign land
I couldn't tell where it was from

As his hand covered my mouth
I was not appeasing
His weight shifted on me
Then I found it quite pleasing

We talked for awhile
Of things we did that were malo
Then he scooted away
But to him I did follow

He offered a smoke
And I took it, no less
So we puffed them away
While our thoughts would suppress

He showed me his gun
With a suggestive grin
And my breaths came harder
While our distance grew thin

We both knew it was coming
Either a hit or a miss
So I pulled him to me
For an inevitable kiss

Now it's been a year
Yet we are still not together
But mejores amigos
Like two birds of a feather

He laughs at my jokes
He cheers me when needed
He gives me abrazos
When I've been defeated

But I feel so selfish
My heart aches for more
I want him to love me
Because it's him I adore

My thoughts are silent
But I won't tell him that
I don't want to lose
Our companionship pact

I am his amiga
For always and longer
But I know that waiting
Makes my heart grow fonder

He's not like the hombres
I've met before
If he lies or he cheats
I'll come running for more

Ay ay, dios mio!
I am in need of advice
Are we just only friends
If we've made love more than twice?

He makes my head spin
I don't know what to do
Should I confess my love
Then lose a friend, too?

Maybe I'll just wait
For him to say it first
Because I'd be too scared
And I'd fear the worst

Maybe I'll ask him
If he'd like to dance
Or just anything if it
Seemed like a chance

This is a game that
He will definitely win
I'm not going to betray him
I will stay his best friend

Oh why am I a victim
In this endless charade?
Why do I fear nothing
But with this, I'm afraid?

This plagues me inside
But all the while
Like a gift from the skies
I can't forget his smile...

I got one!

When days of old
And knights were bold
And toliets weren't invented

You left your load
Apon the road
And walked away contented

Sorry if it sounds crude and lame, I just made it from the top of my head, LOL!! Those are excellant poems Sarabi and Nuku!

It speaks truth, Enishi, if nothing more. But who is this that can't walk off to the side of the road and find a wooded area somewhere?

Everything I had posted was deleted so I am re-posting my poems. Does anyone know what happened to the forums?

Life Goes On......

I found out one day when I was 3 1/2 years old.
My Dad died suddenly and unexpectedly.
No more playing ball or seeing his face.
No more hugs or saying "I Love You".
Mother makes me carry on.
With death two months later, comes new life, my brother.
You can see him grow, Dad, through my eyes.
With school and soccer with trophies.
With tennis and Cub Scouts with many awards.
Joined Boy Scouts to make me strong.
Building models and playing monopoly.
Now mother is married with brother and me.
We stand at the alter this new family.
I have a new Dad that cares and loves me.
I have a new brother and sister.
My Dad and me are planning a camping trip.
My dusty ball and bat with new glove.
I will be on a ball team I've always dreamed.
My 3 1/2 years with you, Dad, will not be forgotten.
With all my experiences, I'll be a good Dad, when it's my turn.
Thank you God for my new family.
Life goes on.....

-----

Father

Many can say they have
The greatest father in
The whole world,
Others can say they have the
Worst father
But, there are others?
Like me,
Who can only have a
Limited amount
Of memories,
My only memories are pictures,
Pictures of him
I?ve heard so many
Great things of my father,
I wish I could have met him
Who knows, maybe, I will
Be with him once again.
