    Fox and the Hound 2

Kind of surprised there was no thread(I went back a few pages to check, but a usual search was impossible as all the words were to short for the engine.).

I just rented this movie yesterday, and was not dissapointed. I was smart enough not to expect a classic like it's forebearer, but for a "inbetweenquel" as Pumba calls them, it was actually pretty good. Without ruining the plot, it revolves alot around fame ruining freindships and how not to be big headed. It also involved lots of music performed by Reba McIntyer, Trisha Yearwood, and Little Big Town. Oh, and for all you single girls out there, acting legend, Patrick Swayzie plays one of the main charaters!

Id'e give it a 7/10 for a heck of an attempt at brining back the magesty and drama of the original in a more humorous style.

I loved it, I'd say #1 isn't as good as this for sure, Mostly because I guess it doesnt leave me with a "Wtf?" feeling right at the begining of the movie..

    I'd rate it 8/10, Loved it :]

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I have to agree! I really enjoyed this movie ALOT, I actually like it better than the original. ^^; Though the original is still very cool, but, I'm loving this movie so much. It had a great plot, songs, and I loved the voices.

Really? I thought some of the voices were horrendous. I realize that most of the actors from the original are old, or even dead(RIP, Patrick "Chief" Buttram), but some of the new voices arn't even close. Espicially Chief, Amos Lee, and Widow Tweed. I was also hoping to see some of the Big Mama chartacter from the original. Queen Latifah or Wanda Sykes could have been awsome as that part.

Sequels are a loads of crud. Bandwagoning things only makes money for Disney. Having looked at the trailer for this, I know FatH2 is gonna be crud. Looks too much like a Lady and the Tramp 2 do, and that film what crap too.

Sequels are a waste of space.

Don't judge it until you watch it. Compared to The Little Mermaid 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, Peter Pan 2, Cinderella 2, and dare I say it, Lion King 1/2, Fox and the Hound 2 was pretty decent. Gives a bit of good words to sequels anyway. Bambi 2 is next for me.

BTW, the day they make a Dumbo 2 is the day I stop being so faithful to Disney.

Judgemental much? Sure, I hate most sequels myself, but it's not like we're back in the nineties here.

Besides, isn't that Pixar guy in charge of sequels now? At least the art is a load better.

Um, I didn't think this movie was very good... Pretty good animation but... I don't know, I don't really see what's so great about it. I doubt I'll ever watch it again. The first movie is great and very dark, this one I guess was made more for the little kiddies.

I'll agree with you on Cheif. But you really thought Amos and Tweed didn't sound anything alike? They were the 2 people in the movie who sounded most similiar to me. And funny you should mention Big Mama because I had heard on IMDB a while back before the movie that they were actually thinking of casting Queen Latifah for that role. But maybe Queen Latifah didn't like the sound of it or Disney didn't like the sound of it. And maybe they didn't want Wanda Sykes being a voice actor for 2 sequels in the same year. Remember Wanda Sykes was also the voice of the Shawoman in Brother Bear 2(shudders).

All in all it was a really great movie. I loved it so much. In fact I don't see one thing wrong with it. I give it 10/10 stars.

I really liked the movie, regardless of the storyline being weak. The music and animation was very to a liking.

    10/10******* all the way!

I saw it with Audra and well to be honest, I got that feeling from the beginning that it's going to be one of these quite pointless sequals and yes I it was one of those. The story wasn't really much of anything, characters weren't interesting enough and it was hard to get into that movie. if I would have to rate it from 1 to 10 I think it would get 4 or 4.5 the most from me.

Y'know, I really should get around to seeing this one. The first one was really a good film, so I'm afraid the second one might mess things up for me.

I didn't enjoy TFATH2 at all. I thought it was just like Bambi 2: boring and repitive.

Don't be so judgmental. But I am also kinda like that, so.................XD

I didin't want to get this movie, i thought they could have runined it. I kinda wanted to, but I was afraid I would waste money, which is what I had been doing lately, so yeah. But from the comments here, I might think about it.

My advice to you is see if you could borrow FATH 2 from a friend of yours or rent it first just to see if you'll want to buy it or not that way you won't feel like you wasted 17-20 dollars. I loved it as far as DTV'S go it was great. Fox and the Hound was better . But it was a great sequel and in no stretch of the imagination did it ruin the original IMO. I give it a 9/10 stars.

You know what, I actually liked this film. It's possibly the worst Disney sequel I've seen yet, seeing as this film bears absolutely no resemblance to the original, whatsoever. It's as if the only thing they took from the original was the characters (and clearly left 'Big Mama' behind).

Having said that, I actually don't mind it. It's such a fun, exciting, adventurous, entertaining movie. It isn't fantastic, but it's still very good in my opinion because in some ways, it accomplished more than the original - although this film can't even compare to the emotion, and characterisation in the original.

Now, the animation. While it's easily more visually pleasing than the original, this one's too....cartoony in comparison to the original. Even if the animation wasn't perfect in the original, The characters were extremely detailed there. In this film, they seem to have just grabbed the characters, made them cartoony for the kids, and placed them in this non-stop thrill-ride. But there's some beautiful use of bright colours in this film, which does look fantastic.

While Disney sequels are obviously, and automatically going to be inferior to the originals by default, I think this was a pretty good effort, if not a little too child-based.
