As of now, it is rumored to be in the scripting stages... as a midquel to the Ice Age franchise (exempli gratia, an additional storyline after the first Ice Age; as such.)
Ice Age 3 is expected to be released in 2008. Also, this will be the finale in the series.

I really hope they come out with a third of this movie. I loved both movies I hope if they do a third they bring back Crash and Eddie.
OMG, why can't they just come up with NEW ideas?
maybe those pink primates will come back (FYI Humans).
