A thank you letter for a friend's 21st that we attended. It's actually quite amusing... well not really, it just mentions that after they attended my 21st several years ago, they arrived home to find all of their chickens eaten by a fox. Then after arriving home from our engagement party last week, they found their rooster had gone by way of a fox too. The letter then informed us that if we wished to continue inviting them to events that we needed to give them at least 1 months warning so they could take out poultry insurance and set traps

    It amused me anyway.

Engagement gift from my dad, a pair of really nice flute glasses. In the card he wrote "better late than never" which is just like my dad. Unfortunately, I'm rather a lot like him

I don't receive whole a lot of things, but as I get credit card offer from Discover almost every week, I'm leaning towards that one.

More Blu-Rays, this week it was the Italian edition of Beauty And The Beast & the Australian edition of TLK. The TLK Blu-Ray has the Zulu version which I have on DVD twice because about a year and a half ago Nathalie got me the Dutch DVD when it released in Belgium, but my Blu-Ray came with a DVD that's identical to the Dutch DVD.

Some kind of bill. It was probably for my wrist issues back in May.

Uh....don't judge, heh, but I'm waiting for "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riordan, the "other"/new series with Ancient Egyptian god characters by the guy who wrote the Percy Jackson books.

I didn't especially love the Percy Jackson books, but they weren't terrible either, just total brainless fun/throw-away plane or beach reading.

And it's summer and time for brainless beach reading again, lol. I wanna read something that'll be a fun ride & keep me busy but not require overmuch thought.

Rick Riordan lives here! He does book signings a lot during the school year. A few of my books are signed. Makes me happy. I've always loved mythology, so those books have been right up my alley.

That's where/how I found out about him! I was on vacation elsewhere in...THAT STATE WHERE YOU ARE, and the local discount bookseller had the Percy Jackson books on the endcap of the main aisle I <3 mythology too & was flying out in a day or two so figured what the heck. Totally kept me busy the whole flight back, & whenever that was later that the movie came out I was like HA! In b4 they change the cover & jack the price up!

So I'm finally getting around to this next series, now that I grabbed a used one on Amazon for .99 cents

    (Cheeeeeaaappppp..... )

The Percy Jackson books weren't quite as delicate as Harry Potter and a lot more predictable, but for someone who gleefully enjoyed Xena & Hercules back in the day they were a blast, lol.

....Even though I still haven't gotten the book >C
