    Kovu's Territory

((Well I promised it, now here it is. ; ) ))

The morning was calm, the lions and lioness were all inside the den. Snoozing peacefully together, many of the lionesses were crowded together, and some laying over top of another from the dreams they had and it seemed none of the rest really cared about it either. A calm zephyr blew into the main entrance of the den. And it awoke Kovu for he had decided to sleep near the entrance ahead of the Pride to defend them of anything that would come near the entrance. Once the breeze had hit his warm fur, it sent a chill down his spine and it caused him to gasp awakening from his slumber.

He looked about him with sleepy eyes, and groggily stood up, taking a huge breath of air and letting it all out with a tremendous yawn which turned into a small growl. He stretched out his hind legs and extended his full body length by a good foot or so. And did the same with his front paws. Finally he shook his entire body, awakening the last of the sleeping and tired muscles inside of him. He walked slowly out of the den and was greeted by the warmth of the rising sun in the sapphire sky above, the sun was directly in front of him and casted huge shadows upon any object that was in the Pride Lands. He walked up the course of Pride Rock and came to stand at the Promotory and started to survey the lands before him, everything looked calm and well.

"Just another peaceful morning.." he said softly to himself and smiled vagely as he saw a herd of Antelope already on the move and going to there natural feeding grounds. Then laughed at the thought of Simba's lionesses hunting for the Antelopes in no time at all. And soon he felt the need for food.. Perhaps he would join them... Or maybe he wouldn't.. It all depended on what was to happen in the next few hours.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

The morning light soon filtered through the small cracks in the den that early morning. Jaha shielded his eyes for a brief moment. After getting used to the morning light, he took his paw away from his eyes and placed it down on the floor where it previously was.

He slowly turned his head and pawed his slightly longer quiff away from his eyes. He looked down to his mate, Jafeecae or better known as Cae. He smiled to himself and tried his best not to disturb him, since he was still sleeping quietly and peacefully.

He rested his head on top of Cae's for a moment before letting out a slight yawn. Jaha softly kissed the top of his head before releasing his head and gently placing it down on the floor. He got to his paws and sat down on his hind legs for a moment thoroughly licking his right paw clean. He looked around the den and most of the lions were still sleeping or either half awake. He let out a slight sigh and padded out towards the entrance.

Morning, and a beautiful one at that... The young prince twitched as he slept soundly, The sudden change in lighting woke him up from the young one's slumber. He opened his eyes slowly and groaned slightly as a shadow blocked the sunlight from his veiw. Kivoru, laying on his back, watched upside down as the figure exit the den. As his vision cleared the recognition of his father brought a smile to the cub's face "Papa..." he said softly after a loud yawn and stretch of his paws.

The gloomy misty moring of the savanna, a savanna which seemd empty of life, neither the birds song nor the insects movements could be heard through the slient savanna. The sky still carried the mark of last nights stars, it could seem as if time itself had frozen as the sun itself had not yet broken the horizon.

Through this world of silence a figure is passing through the long moist grass, the figure of a young lion. The only hint of life in this empty wilderness, the young lion kept a steady slow walk each step he took on the darkend soil was with thought, it seem as if the lion knew where he was heading. The feline kept his gaze focused on the ground below him as his breath transformed to steam in the cold african morning.

"I must get some sleep.." the lion thought to himself as he didn't break his sure paced walk. Suddenly lifting his head as he heard the sound of a snapping twig, he could see a small bird exit it's hideout in the grass, the lions presences had stirred it's sleep. Watching the bird fly off the lion gaze about the still darkend savanna peering through the light morning mist, his eyes widden slightly as he caught the eye of a rock formation in the distance, yet even thought it was just tiny dot, to the lion it was indistingusiable. A small sigh of mixed relife and anxiety escaped the young lions maw, "Father, I am home..." the young lion thought to himself as he turned towards the tiny dot in the distance resumeing his slow pace. "Keep cool Rac, and everything will go as planned.." the feline murmured as he watched the light of the sun break the horizon far in the distance.

    ((Yeehoo! It starts!))

The rising bright circle began its slow climb up into the sky, shedding bright light on all the land. However, it still remained dark and dank towards the Northern Border. The light seemed to stop at the gates to the Graveyard, seeming to reject to give its radiance to such a dismal place. It wasn't worth it to shed life in that now deserted area.

However, the sun was wrong. Out of the shadows, a reddish brown figure came. He padded towards the southwest, in the direction of the waterhole. His mane was black as pitch, wonderful camaflouge in the dark abyss he crawled out of, but it stood out like a sore thumb in the sea of golds and greens. Dark brown toes touched the ground with a soft thud, exposed ebony talons emitting small scraping noises when in contact with the earth. Orbs of acid green stared out from half closed lids, a pink scar running over the right eye. His head was held low, his gait in a sulk.

Today was his day to hunt. He was favoring impala this morning. They were always a light meal that would still satisfy. Did the fact that he was trespassing onto someone else's land and stealing their food cross his mind? Of course it did, but the Pridelanders have yet to find the forgotten prince. As far as they knew, Sengalo had died years before.

Oh I hope Im not too late...

Scar lifted his head and slowly opened his eyes. The scar over his left eye was as prominent as it had always been. He pawed the ground as he stretched out his back and front legs before standing up. Scar was now living in the abandoned elephants grave yard. The hyenas had left ever since the betrayel of their "couragous leader" Scar. Simba and his pride thought the devious lion had been done in by his once loyal servants the hyenas. No that was not the case at all. The hyenas had taken pity on Scar and figured that Simba would kill him anyway when he got the second chance. He had gone with the outlanders for awhile to make sure there was an "heir" amongst the rouges.

Scar angrily swiped a bone out of his way as he angrily thought of how Kovu had betrayed his and Zira's plan on reclaiming Pride Rock. Now, once again, Scar would have to take it into his own paws. He had t reclaim what was, he thought, rightfully his. Pride Rock.

I dunno what you think. Well I hope you like it.

As the african sun made it's way into the sapphire and azure sky, it painted the landscape in an intense and vivid hue of ginger. All across the lands animals awoke to another gorgeous day in the pridelands. A little ways away from pride rock two silhouette figures padded along the horizion. Except for the hint of a mane on the male the two were extremely similar in appearance. They had wanderered for a few good days now...often they ran into trouble. They had yet to find a home, though...or others who might accept them. Tiaret raced on ahead of her brother, active and hyper as usual. She moved across the plains turning from time to time to make sure Kashka was following her.

"C'mon, ya slowpoke!" she teased in a cublike manner, her long chocolate tail smacked to and fro in annoyance. "I have a good feeling about today!" she padded over to him again, nudged her head against his neck and then swung a forepaw up to smack him gently. Kashka flattened his ears as she neared him, shaking his head at her words. An almost raven color of a mane was starting to show around his neck; he simply hated how hard it was to keep straight and clean.

He paused as his sister nudged against it and in doing so messed up his hours of grooming. It sometimes seemed as if she enjoyed messing up his mane. She was quite angry that she wasn't growing one herself, afterall...the young male snorted and turned his emerald green eyes from her to his mane for a moment, turning his head he fought to reach the spot she'd messed up. His tongue smoothed it down again, only to have it spring up again. He snorted and then returned his annoyed gaze towards his sibling. Her own coat was a mess, her fur scruffy and unkempt, and he wondered sometimes how they were even related.

"Tia, now look whatcha' went and did! You know how many hours it took me to get this perfect?" He mumbles, head lowered as he padded after her. "Yeah, whats so great about today..." He felt his gaze wandering the lands, taking in each inch of the gorgeous, thriving plains. A few gazelle off in the distance made his stomach snarl at him...then there was another smell that made him nervous.

"There's lions here..." he frowns as he moves closer to his sister, "They may not appreciate us..." he started, quickly cut off.

Tiaret allowed a large grin to sprawl across her face and she snatched at her brother's tail, giving it a strong tug.

"So there are! Lets go rustle up some fun!" she grins, turning just as he would start to complain again. She wasn't gonna let him mess up her games, oh no. These lions could prove the start of another adventure for the two.

As the strange shaped rock formation came into sight, the twins hesitated only a few moments. Tiaret again took control, forcing Kashka to cautiously trail after her as they made their way towards pride rock...and towards the strange lions.

ooc: I thought it might make it more fun and make more sense if they were just wandering into the lands...and it fits their story more too. yee, can't wait 'ta continue. Also, since I'm rping the two twins together I just went and wrote it out as if it were a story...instead of putting: tiaret: stuff and then kashka: stuff...I thought it seemed nicer...is that alright...

Timon scurried ((love that word)) through the long grass, humming something as he went. He was searching for some crunchy beatles (even though he'd just devoured a nest of ants). He came to a large rock and clambered up onto it, and sat down to catch his breath. He hadn't stopped all morning and his legs were aching. He interlocked his fingers so his palms were facing outwards and stretched his arms. There was a loud crack from Timon's fingers and he brought his arms back shaking out his hands and wincing slightly. Darn atheritus he thought. He stood up for a moment and stretched his back as well, his spine made a loud satisfying click.
"That's better," Timon sighed falling back onto his back so he was lying on the rock, looking up at the sky. He placed his hands behind his head and sighed again, watching the clouds with great interest and making shapes and objects out of their formations, including familiar faces of creatures he used to know.

Kiara didn't even need to open her eyes to tell it was morning already. The distinct scent of the dew that captured the light in its grasp, and made it dance and dapple across the land, cut through the fresh air like a spear.
She let one blood red orb identify the formless shapes in front of her, her blurred vision rapidly diminishing, revealing nothing but the cave and the pride lioness's.

She yawned, her fangs glinting amongst the dim lighting of the den. They would be sinking deep into soft warm flesh later, and it was important that they be spotless until then.
Careful to mind the heads, tails and paws of her pride members as she walked through the stirring lions, she spotted her son, awake, and looking as lively as ever.

She nudged Kivoru softly with the tip on her nose.

"Good morning my little Kivo" She said quietly; intentional of course, for that greeting was meant for her son only, as that was the nickname she used whenever she talked to him.

She lifted her head to her mate, and licked his cheek affectionately.

"Morning to you aswell Kovu, going out on patrol early as usual this morning?"

She knew the answer to this question rarely changed, but it was always on the tip of her tongue each morning, almost as if were needed to be asked.

Hearing the voices of other lions made Jaha think twice about getting up. He then thought again--he liked speaking to others when not spending time with Cae so he decided to go and greet the king and queen. There wasn't anything better to do and besides, Jaha sort of thought Kovu liked to be greeted in the early morning.

"Hey there you two." A slight smirk set across his muzzle, "And what might you two be up to today then?" He asked them both curiously sitting down on his hind legs. "Cae's still asleep in the den. The lazy Leo." He laughed softly and tilted his head as he eyed Kovu for a moment--the smirk on his face began to grow. His quiff then came out of place, "Damn quiff. It never stays in place." He shook his head slightly before using his paws to place it in its former position.

His red form slunk through the savannah on silent paws, his eyes fixed on the herd in front of him. He took a step forward, then another. His cream belly almost dragged on the ground, his shoulders exhanging height as he moved. The impala were still oblivious to his presence. A wicked smirk creeped onto the hunter's black lips. Now was his move.

Suddenly, the head male of the herd lifted his head, letting out grunts of warning. Instantly, the rest of the herd lifted themselves, eyes darting everywhere. Sengalo narrowed his eyes suspiciously. They didn't suspect him, did they? He hadn't even made a sound and he was downwind. One of the gazelle's nerves cracked and it broke out into a frantic run. The rest were soon to follow. A low growl escaped Sengalo. Oh, no you don't! With a lunge, the black maned lion revealed himself. He let out a roar towards his prey, running at his top speed at the stampeding impala. There was a sickly one that was straggling. Sengalo took it as his oppurtunity. It didn't take long for him to catch up with the lagging beast and with another snarl, he easily swiped it to the ground. The impala let out a cry for help, but the herd was already off, not about to go back to help their fellow kin. Dust billowed every as they ran, making visibility incredibly low. Anyone from a distance could see the cloud.

When the dust settled, Sengalo could be seen with a limp impala in his blood stained jaws. Through what he held, the ends of his mouth curled up in a malicious grin, biting down harder on his catch. He dropped it for a moment, looking around himself as he panted. He still couldn't figure out what had spooked the gazelle. It could've been anything. No matter. Sengalo picked up his kill once more. In a strange gait with the weight he held, Sengalo began to carry off his prize to a cooler place, under the limbs of a thick acacia.

((OCC: Yes That is Okay Akiko it works a lot better and makes the RP kinda sorta easier and a lot funner to read.. Or something :P That is okay though.. Sorry for the wait you guys, Was letting people get there first posts in : ) ))

Kovu spun around quickly as he heard his voice called, not the first time because it was too silent. He never noticed his son talking to him. Though he did hear Kiara speak to him and he walked from the point of Pride Rock, and towards the entrance somewhat. He smirked at his mates question. "You know me all to well Kiara..." he said giving her a soft nuzzle on her cheek.

"I was going to wait for Simba. But I think I'll let him sleep in today. I can handle it" he said with a wink then looked to see his son standing next to his mate. "Good morning Kivo" He said softly as to not wake the other lionesses. He turned around to look into the Pride Lands once again, and the rising sun that was clearly visible. If you missed it, you were either blind or just stupid. Not only was it the most noticable object of the morning, it was also the beautifulist(sp?). He noticed an unusual cloud of dirt, or dust, gathering in a particular area of the Pride Lands, one of the feeding grounds of the Impala, and
Gazelles. He continued to stare out at that one particular spot until he heard his name called and he shook his head slightly and forgot about the whole ordeal I'll check that out later... he thought to himself. He brung his head around slowly once again with a raised eyebrow to see a lion standing not to far away from him, It was Jaha.

"Oh.. Hey Jaha, good morning to you buddy." He said with a grin set upon his muzzle. And he laughed contently as his quiff got in his way. "Yes yes they can be quite a nousance.(Sp?) "But watch the language... We've got a cub present." He said with a wink looking down to his son. He thought about his question and smirked. "Well, I'm going to do a round of the Pride Lands, then probably get the lionesses to hunt for food. Would you like to come?" He questioned sitting down on his hind legs on the hardened rock. He looked into the Den of Pride Rock and noticed Cae still sleeping and shook his head.

"Jaha, most of the creatures here are lazy." He said with a smirk.

OOC: Edit, Adding a post for Tek.

    IC:

One lion, stood alone at the edge of the Outlands gazing deep into the hearts of the Pride Lands. These lands were full of vegetation, unlike the place he had came from, and the places he had seen. This place was like heaven, while the others hell. What was so different about this place, well.. He couldn't exactly put his paw down on it. But it seemed that when he stepped out from the Outlands to sit in the borders of the lands, he felt.. A since of security... A sense of satisfaction. But all that soon went away as the thought came in his mind that he didn't belong here. The sun shown upon the lions back. And he shook his blood red fur and grinned wide feeling the suns warmth.

He thought to himself upon what he should do, enter the lands... Or leave. Then he smirked as his brain did something rather unusual, it dared him to go in. It dared him to take refuge, it dared him to kill... Just like before. Tekua couldn't not just listen to himself (Wow double negative LOL >D) it was part of his nature. And he liked the way his conieving(sp?) mind worked. It never played games on him in his time of needs. It was always there when he needed it, during the heat of an intense battle, or during the thrill of a hunt. Or just sleeping, his mind was always on the move, and was always working. A soft yawn had escaped the opening of his maw, and he stretched out his body and began to take a few simple paw steps into the unknown lands. He was soon doing what any other lion or lioness, or creature for that matter would do if they found something new, Admiring.

Tekua gasped at the many colors and plants, but most of all... The delicious looking animals that roamed the lands here, he couldn't help himself and he drooled as he saw a herd of Antelope ahead. But wiped it away and shook his head. "Explore first. Eat later.." he said quietly, and he smirked, walking straight towards the Antelopes and laughing as the male leader let out a yowl and the Antelopes scattered. That was his plan, to just see how long it would take the healthy creatures to run away, and to check if any were injured or just plan out weak.

"Infant, size about two feet.. Probably around 60 pounds... Easy takings.." he muttered and walked into the tall grasses of the Savanna once again and completely covered himself, though from birds eye view. Anyone could notice his Bloody red fur amungst the many seas of the color gold and green.(Just so you know, That means the grass :P)

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

The lion was still slowly walking towards the large rock formation in the distance, but suddenly his ears perked at the sound of a distress call, an impala distress call. He lifted his head as his eyes darted about the now lit savanna, his noserills contracting rapidly takeing in the smells around him.

He licked his maw as the smell of blood struck his noserills, "Hmm free food.." the male thought to himself as he followed the sent of death through the savanna, keeping silent and low to the ground not to alert the possible owner of the kill. As the young male trotted through the savanna, he slowly approced a large, old acacia. Peering into it's shade Rac could see the owner of the meal contently feasting on it and a smirk crossed his lips, as he stood up and walked slowly over to the creature under the tree with a smirk still stuck on his face.

Timon quickly ducked down and covered his head with his hands as a herd of gazelle came steaming his way, causing the dust to rise up around him. As they moved away, Timon stood up, coughing and choking on the dust and it took him a moment to steady himself.
"What they heck has got into them?!" Timon asked himself. "Hey watch where ya going you maniacs!!!" He yelled after them. He stood up straight (finding it a bit more difficult to keep balance as he had developed a bit of a gut as the years had gone by) and looked in the direction the gazelle had come from. He slipped down the rock and followed the hoofprints back to the grazing lands.

Sengalo's dark rimmed ears perked forward at the sound of rustling in the grass. He lifted his head, his entire maw covered with fresh blood from his meal. He licked his lips, savouring the taste.

Out of the grass, he spotted a male lion advancing towards him. Sengalo's ears flattened into his black mane, his ebony lips beginning to twitch into a sneer. A low growl began its eruption from deep within his throat, becoming louder with each step this new lion took. His bright emerald orbs narrowed, not leaving Rac, as his muzzle began to contort into a grimace. He stood to his feet, positioning himself to stand over the carcass protectively.

"Back off, moocher," he hissed at the male, "get your own kill."

The male lion just chuckled at the lions remaks. "And why should I, when I can easily steal yours, I am suprised you even managed to bring this kill down.. from how you look you don't look like much.. nothing more than a weakling.." the male sneerd eyeing the male before him slowly advanceing forward with a grin revealing that his right caine tooth was broken.

"This weakling won't pack up a fight... and desides what's the use to die for a kill.." the male thought to himself as the closed in on Sengalo and his prey, inching closer with every paw step, his claws half exposed.

(Haha, that'd be 'nuisance' for the spelling error there. )

"Hey Kovu, I only said the 'd' word. Can't call it much really," Jaha smirked, "But if you don't want me to call it out whilst the cub's are around, I'll keep my muzzle shut." His smirk set on his muzzle began to grow as he laughed once more.

"Hmm.. well, guess I could always go and help ya out there so sure, count me in." Jaha smiled before turning his head towards the den where Cae was still sleeping, "Well, to be honest with you Kovu, I think I... tired the guy out a bit last night." His cheeks turned a slight shade of pink as he looked back towards Kovu once again, "Guess that sorta gives it away, huh?" He smirked once more as he batted his quiff away from his eyes once more.

Timon trotted along the narrow, dusty path, heading further and further towards the grazing land. He stood up and inspected the area, but soon ducked down again with a loud yelp when he realised two not so friendly looking lions nearby, just under a tree on the outskirts of the plain. Timon clapped his hands to his mouth, he had actually made quite a loud noise, hopefully they would think it just a bird.
Timon peaked through the blades of grass in front of him. What are they doing here? he though, they look like they mean trouble, or something...nah it's probably nothing but Timon realised that he was walking straight towards them, better check it out anyway. He sneaked along the sandy earth, towards the lions.
