Is the Japanese version different than the American version?

no, have the same songs, just the names in the cd are written in japanese, and beside the original cover with the song lyrics in english there is other with the translation of the lyrics to japanese.

For me it is the same as the american, just in the back cover that have some japanese writings, but the rest seems to be the same

These letters say "Toki wa kita", meaning "The time has come". It's the Japanese title of "It's Time"
As ThiagoPE said, the Japanese version CD is almost the same as the American version.
But the Japanese translations of RotPL lyrics are poor... especially the translation of "He Lives In You".
They are too different from original lyrics. Another HLiY translations from SP soundtrack or TLKoB CD are better.

For me these names in japanese don?t bother, even because i can read most of it, just my computer that don?t like it too much, as you can see in the pic, in the track list just show some "squares" as the music names.

It was item #7996990465 on Ebay... sale ended a while ago and I couldn't believe how cheap they were. If I hadn't already bought a set I would have bid on them.
