I'm sad to say that Luther Vandross, the man who wrote many hit songs, died yesterday at age 54.

I didn't know him that well myself, I know he wrote the song 'Dance With My Father' which is a really good song IMHO. As it says htough, he'll be able to to danc ewith his father again now..
