I've been trying to find an app for mac that's used to make GIF's. Do you need any type of software for this? I want to take some clips from TLK and LOTR and make some GIF's. If anybody can help, I'll appreciate it.

Have you tried Photoshop? There's a demo for mac on the adobe website.
I use MAC and PC's but there really is not a good animation gif program out there that is simple to use for the MAC. It is basically a trial and error for that.
But her are some ones that I use for the MAC
