I once held a rat at a local pet sanctuary. It ended up trying to crawl up my sleeve though.

Hehe, I used to have a trained rat. Y'know, like how a dog will come if you call its name, and such.

Rats really are awesome companions. If you handle them enough they can be very affectionate, just like dogs. We had one named Swirl and she was the sweetest thing. She'd sit on my sister's shoulder and ride around like a little parrot. She was also pregnant when we got her so watch out for that.
