I love that one! :D They didn't have anything like these on TV when the show came through. It was more like, "Yeah, it's here go see it" than anything else. It was rather disappointing since we do have a fairly large theater community. :(

Wow Tim, I liked this one even more than the other one. Keep em' coming :D
I believe I was the one to record the KATU special, if my memory doesn't deceive me. I'm pleased to see it imbued with new life.
Ah that's right. It was so long ago I couldn't remember who it was. If you want I can credit you in the Youtube description, but I did have to change the formatting twice and split the file to fit youtube's restrictions on video posting.
Thanks again Bahati for originally making the vid available to all of us, and let me know how you would like to be credited if you want me to mention your name. :)
OT: Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim. Your PM box is full. :D
Back on topic. One of the girls at work is trying to get tickets for TLK in Austin. We spent about an hour looking for tickets for her and her boyfriend. We found some fairly good one on the orchestra aisle. I was like "GET THEM GET THEM!" But she has to wait until payday next week. I hope they're still there when she goes to order them. She was really bummed that she missed it when it was here.
Sorry Amanda, should be fixed now ;)
And for everyone, I uploaded two more clips:
The first one is just about the complete Curtain Call from when I went to see The Lion King in Shanghai last summer. The audience there was much more reserved than they are in the States and there was not nearly as much whistling and hollering that I was are used to hearing - and no standing ovation??? Features the Australian Cast, August 15, 2006.
The second one is my favorite Dutch Clip (the awards show is already posted numerous times on Youtube) the appearance of Gino and Carolina on Life & Cooking performing Can You Feel the Love Tonight. I did edit it to remove the talking before the scene starts, though some of it is kind of funny.

See the guy with a weird costume, waving, LOL, just joking...:)
Hehe
*hmm* Brian doesn't look so tall next to Alexia.
Or is Jonathan just a really taaaall guy? lol
He ain't that tall...182 or something...but you've seen the pic of them together, i think it's somewhere in here too, she seems pretty small, although she isn't really, she's as tall as I am.
Because this thread is sickly. :( And we were talking about it in the WWtbKotPL after party. ;)
http://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=13311
Why sickly...there ain't nothing wrong with that link?
she ment this thread was dying, I believe
Yeah, this thread is sick. :( Where have all the Simbaholics gone? :( Did November explode on everyone else too?
Lol, nah amanda...it's just, my Simba desease is curing slowly...there's a new one that still involves same people, but dressed up in every day clothes and singing 'show you' ,lol :)
Nooooooo! There is no cure for Simba-itis.
"-itis: Suffix meaning inflammation. For example, colitis is literally colon inflammation."
Sorry to hear that you have inflammation of your Simba! Doesn't sound good - probably should go get that checked out
;)
Anyway I just posted a couple new videos to Youtube after a lengthy absence (I've run out of TLKOB stuff to post and I have a lot of subscribers asking for more!)
The first is from the 1998 Tony Awards featuring all the additional information and commentary from the nominees, I joined all the separate clips together as one (most of you have probably seen them) and also the storyboarded "Early version" of the CYFTLT scene as featured on the TLK Special Edition Laserdisc which is now obsolete. Enjoy!
Tony Awards TLKOB commentary
CYFTLT Early Version
The goofy Simba laugh. It cracks me up every time.
Perhaps I should rename my disorder then. :hmm: Simba is most definitely not inflamed. ;)
I have to say the stampede, even though it was sad it was very interusting how they did it. Unfortunatly the people sitting behind me were laughing and saying "haha mufassa died" :(
It is very clever. :) When/where did you see the show?
Yeah - the burning question in my mind before my first time was "how in the world are they going to stage the stampede scene???" and it was great, just blew me away like the rest of the show.
I found an article featured in the Tennessean newspaper about the Lion King's run in Nashville, and I think it's one of the best overall articles I've ever read about TLKOB. Enjoy!
Nashville TLKOB article
Superdoglac...where did you see it? When did you see it? Who did you see in it? LOL :)
Yes there is a cure HK!!! There is a certain medicine...it's hard to find it...and even harder to get it...but when you do...just get the tiniest taste of it, you become totally addicted...I believe you know what I'm trying to say ;)
How's the harem BTW?
 I would think that the medicine you speak of would only make it worse. ;)
The harem is sulking. I'm sick, so I'm avoiding them. Don't want them to get sick. ;) Especially when they're dressed quite scantily and out in the cold.
That's great!Quote:
Does anyone have this version of CYFTLT?
Dude, how was the stampede done? i always wanted to know.
I actually went through a while back and ripped all of the songs on the laser disc. Not sure where I put the CD but it's either in my room or in my car. I'll look for it. :)Quote:

Kimbai: The stampede is done with a combination of rolling drops, rolling puppets, and giant masks used by dancers. :)
You can kind of see what's going on here. :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...p-stampede.jpg
The first row has dancers with one giant mask each. The second row has dancers with two smaller masks each, and then behind them are the puppets on drums.
Pretty cool. Thanks XD
I found the CD! :D PM me if you want the songs. :) I recommend the version of CYFTLT sung by Timon and Pumbaa.
To be on topic, one of the songs on the laserdisc is the Be Prepared (reprise) which is featured, in part, in the show. Incidentally, I love the scene right after it, with Sarabi, Nala and Rafiki and the spots. Gives me chills just thinking about it.
Who's the bufbuf on ya avatar, muahaha
One of the Aussie ones. They look so different in their costumes, and that pic is so tiny.Quote:

You said something about it somewhere. I can't remember where. I need to make a holiday avatar. :hmm:
Really, yeah, I keep forgeting things...but a Simba in a Santa outfit would be a thought  Although not that appealing anymore
:hmm: Maybe holiday-fy the corset bit? I'm gonna play now. ;)
EDIT: Wait'll you see what I did to poor Vince Harder.
