Wow I totally forgot about TLKoB coming to Orlando this holiday season.
I snagged up a ticket though, can't miss out on this chance. Especially for row 3
Anybody else going on the 15th?

Seat location: section ORCRGT, row CCC, seat 11
Total Charge: $88.85
Nice. :D And Nath... those pictures scare me. :hehe: He has rabbit teeth.
I saw the lion king broadway musical in Toronto about 5 years ago when I was 16. I loved it! I really want to see it again but its not playing in Toronto anymore.
Isn't the one of the tours stopping up that way sometime next year? I thought I saw something about it. :hmm: Or maybe that was Phantom. My fandoms are running together.
Dang, that's an awesome seat! Lucky that seats that close are still available, I have a feeling that since TLKOB has been in Florida a few times before (Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, and is going to be in Ft. Meyers soon) that the show won't sell out as quickly as some places - like Seattle! Even singles were entirely sold out for virtually every show months before the tour even came.Quote:

I'm going on the closing weekend, January 12th with one of my friends from work, and (almost certainly) Hasira_Kali and her sister. It will be the 8th time for both Hasira_Kali and myself to see TLKOB, wow! :wow:
I originally bought only two tickets, but purchased another set of tickets today, the best I could find on the 12th side-by-side were row K (a bit misleading at the Bob Carr P.A. center because the closer rows are AAA-CCC then AA-KK then finally the single letters) but they are very close to the aisle in the center orchestra section. A few months ago the best tickets were only in row G, left Orchestra a few seats away from the aisle which is why I'm shocked that you were able to get a CCC seat for Friday night!
I can't wait. It's going to be such an awesome trip - my first time to Orlando and WDW.
It'll be my 9th. But who's counting. I can't wait. I saw that the Finding Nemo show is opening in January so hopefully it'll be open at that time. :D
ninth??? Wow, I thought you only saw it seven times in San Antonio... did you see it once before that I forgot about?
Yes, we'll definitly have to check out the Finding Nemo show if it's running, I heard about that, and the Festival of the Lion King too (though I've seen footage already ;)
Yeah I saw it in NY in 2000. One of Jason's last performances. :(
Oh FoTLK rocks! We should decide what section to sit in before... :hmm: Giraffe, Warthog, Elephant, or Lion? Lion. Closer to the Simba puppet. ;)
Closer to the Simba puppet? No no no ... Closer to the guy who actually plays Simba ... :p
Haha, HK, he scared me a little too ... that's why I can't decide weather it's Winston or not, haha
But in that show, there isn't an actual guy who plays Simba, it's just a Cam Clarke voice over. :( Otherwise, I'd sit on the float.
Oh and OT, Tim: I just saw pictures from rehearsals of the Finding Nemo show. It looks AWESOME. If it's not open in January, I think we might be going twice next year. Here's a link The Word of Nemo
It actually reminds me of the old Legend of the Lion King show that was at WDW but was replaced by Philiharmagic a few years ago. A show which is awesome and which we MUST see btw. 3D TLK? Yes please. :D
Huh? I thought you said the show also was the same as the one in Hong Kong?
Or am I that wrong ... *lol*
'Cause in Hong Kong there's definatly a man who plays Simba.
The one in Hong Kong is similar because of the floats. That's what I meant. I think. :hmm: I saw a video on youtube with the floats in the center of the theater going in a circle. I know they don't do that in AK.
Oow, ok, then it's probably me who read wrong again *so, what else is new*
This thread is falling way too close to the bottom. :p Here's a funky site. I don't know what it is because it's in a language I don't know. :p The logo's cute though.

And a lovely new picture of Scar from the Gazelle company (Dan Donohue).

Along with the article it came from http://belmontvision.com/articles/061025_A&E_lion.html
Oh and I got to hear some of Josh Tower... ;) Mmmmm
Google News search turned up a couple articles about the recent tour of TLKoB:
An interview with ?Scar?

Oh cooooool! I just posted the first one before but I didn't see the second! :D
D'oh I didn't realize you already had that link in there. Oh well :)
It's ok. It's a good interview, it deserves to be posted twice. :D
I think "He Lives in You" should have been animated instead of "The Morning Report.
I would have loved to have seen Shadowland animated. I do understand why they chose Morning Report but they should have done all of them for the SE DVD  That way, crazy TLK fans could see them.
Thanks for posting that interview! One of the best TLKOB interviews I've ever read, article is nice too.
Nashville I don't think has seen the touring show yet, I'm glad they're giving the show a lot of media exposure.
Getting my Austin tickets in a few minutes :D
TLKOB really needs to come back up to the Pacific northwest soon... I know a lot of people that didn't get a chance to go the back in 2004, and are regretting it.
Because of the fact that the show was just in both Spokane and Portland, however, means that we Seattleites will probably have to wait at least until 2008... :hmm:
And the show has been performed (or will be very soon) in Florida FIVE times in the past 3 years... whats up with that?
(Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Meyers, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville)
Geez. Dallas gets it a lot too. SA and Austin have only gotten it once each. They need to spread the love. I think I'm just going to go up to Austin twice. It's not a long drive but I've got some trips to pay for. ;) I didn't get a chance to save up for this run either since it was only announced a few months ago.
Double post but eh. I got my tickets. I ended up with two performances for now, opening and closing. I might go again in the middle, it'll just depend on my budget. I was also pleasantly suprised to find that tickets from UTPAC are much cheaper than Ticketmaster and they don't have service charges. I got orchestra seats for $50. Which, as people who frequently attend the theater may know, is awesome. Now they're not exceptionally close but they are on the aisle, rhino side, aka house right. I am excited. :D Now to book my other two adventures. :D
I got this clip here for anyone who's interested, from German TV 19.10.2006
http://www.4shared.com/file/4791688/..._19102006.html
Nice!
I need to stop watching clips before actually seeing it in the theater though... :hehe:
Oooo, so much new stuff! Anyway...first here's your Josh:
www.myspace.com/joshtower
and I realized if you're interested in any other Simba actors just try the myspace.com/putheretheotherguysname ;)
AND I saw the show last saturday, 8th time (muahahahaha), London of course....Brian Temba as Simba AGAIN! (Nath, you really aren't lucky...), I think there were two understudies but you know me, just listening carefully if they say adult Simba :D
It was soooo fantastic, because they had so many technical problems and made us all laugh, together with the cast, once they even had to let the curtain fall for a couple of minutes :) And my favorite Mufasa had singing problems :( poor guy
Anyway...I told myself I wanna see it one more time, then I'll just stop...I don't really wanna see another Simba
Yeah, the "not lucky" thing came with the whole package when I was born, lol.
Still, in my defense, Jonathan was great, haha.
Yay! For Josh Tower! :D I want to add him but I don't want to appear a stalker. :hehe:
Then get rid of the curtain background at last
But I liiiiikes the curtain. I just bookmarked him so I don't look to weird.
I just uploaded a new video to Youtube that I'm sure all of you will like - it was a TLKoB documentary/special that aired on a local TV station while the show was in Seattle Washington from December 2004-January 2005.
Some of you may already have seen this as it was briefly hosted a while ago, but this is the first time a program like this has been made available to the public. It was originally recorded and edited by me.
It's hosted by 7-time Emmy award winning broadcaster Steve Pool, better known as the longtime weatherman for Komo 4 news. Includes interviews with the cast, crew, directors Garth Fagan and Julie Taymor, and lots of cool clips and info. It's missing the wrap-up section though - but it's only a couple minutes long at the end.
It was very difficult trying to reduce the file size and length of the clips to fit youtube's restrictions, and I finally was able to do it without buying any software online! (aka downloading numerous freeware and shareware programs and using the ones with more generous restrictions) :wow:
Enjoy, and I'll see if I can upload other TLKOB videos to youtube in the near future.
Lion King: Backstage Pass part 1
Lion King: Backstage Pass Part 2
Oh, and if anyone wants me to send them the show in its entirety, just PM me. ;)
Wow, thanks for uploading this Lion_King_300 that was great =D
can't wait for more clips from you.
That's awesome! thanks.
Yay Tim! :D I grabbed it from YouTube but I can't remember if I have the whole thing in all it's uncompressed for YouTube splendor. :hmm:
My Austin tickets came in today! :D I'm so excited! :wow:
I finally got a chance to watch the clips. Thanks for the upload!
If you use Windows, the included Movie Maker software will let you easily split video files into multiple segments as long as they aren't copy protected. You can specify desired quality as well to reduce file size.
I uploaded another one! This new video is the "Lion King - Behind the Curtain" special that aired on KATU TV in Portland last year. The program is in its entirety and it is quite different than the other program I posted earlier.
There's a focus on puppet and mask co-designer Michael Curry as they report from his design company in Oregon, and there are some great clips from the show and in-depth interviews. This is my favorite TLKOB documentary ever, enjoy!
:)
