Very nice! If You give it more space around and post it in larger resolution I would be happy to put it on my desktop as wallpaper. :D
It is sad You don't draw more like this but it is understandable. :-)

OMGZ!
It still makes me cheerful to see this picture! I'm so glad that you made it. I've always considered myself an avid supporter of arts, but I still find it remarkable how some pieces, such as this, can lift the corners of your mouth upwards in a smile and make you notice how your mood is being altered. It's that distinct feeling that can arise from listening to music or watching paintings, for example, and I find it very rewarding.
Now, to be more direct..

:lalala:
Haha thanks Talfasi! :)
I am feeling inspired to draw more TLK art after that piece too. Hopefully I can find the time to do some soon.
Kanu.. although I already said this on DA, I find that comission for Levin absolutely epic.
Saitenyo, that pic is just cheerful :). Makes me smile just looking at it.
Thank you, Lweek and Revo :)
And Saitenyo, your art is so lovely. I've been silently admiring it for a long time now :p
...I made a fanart!
It's pretty standard but it's so infrequently I do anything, especially colored canon, anymore.

Crayons, chalk pastels, color pencil and acrylic on 9x12 Watercolor paper. :-)
That's pretty good, CGW! :D Nice mix of colouring materials you used ^^
I agree, it's simple yet effective. I like it. :)
That's really nice, CGW ^^ It reminds me of the TLK story concept drawings :)
This one is sort of semi-canon :P

Naanda, one of Sarabi's sisters from a couple of early Lion King scripts. I'm stupidly happy with the design I made of her, even though it's based very much on Sarabi-concepts...
Thanks guys! It was the concept art that inspired me to try bigger (& messier!) than usual and opt for sloppy, glorious real media!
And I love your Naanda. Why let a good design go to waste in a slosh pile, and I really like that you gave her the "family" build, too, one of Sarabi's nicest design characteristics & always a pleasant change from the longer, leaner Nala build :-)
(Also, kudos for the tremendous ability to actually portray different body types in art at all, LOL!)
Love that sort of concepty stuff CGW, looks great.
Fantastic image Kanu, looks really great :)
I've missed seeing your guys' art in this thread!! Everything looks great :D
Thank you very much! :hugs:
Looks great, Kanu. She's very pretty. :)
New art from me. Just Simba in all his adulthood glory:

@Kanu: Not sure if I already commented it somewhere, but Naanda looks so adorable ^^ I can see you drew the dorsal strip Sarabi was supposed to have, nice detail :ooo:
@KS: Great work with Simba, I love his face and the fluffiness of his mane :D
Looks great KS!! Very on-model and I always love the vivid colors you use ^^
Thank you to you both. :hugs:
Here's a couple more, just to keep this thread alive. :p

I saw Simba with the background on DA, it's gorgeous! Again, I love the vivid colors and your bgs are always so lush and vibrant, they're awesome to look at.
Yeah, I love the Simba one. I love water being a feature of TLK pictures because its such a basic sign of good times in the savannah and it's such a happy picture with Simba frolicking & bounding around in it!
Thought I'd poke at this thread a little

This year's sappy Valentine's drawing... :idiot:
http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/K...oomsdayFAA.jpg
Aaand the biggest drawing in terms of character count I've made in years and years. Only Sumai (central, red, orange-and-black-maned fellow) is actually my own character, the rest belong to the ones who responded to my cameo request, haha. The bigger version is too big to post here, but take a look on my dA if you like! http://kanutgl.deviantart.com/art/Do...ding-356266890
I already commented the first one, it's really sweet and heartwarming, it brings a lovely calm feeing :)
As for the second one, the effort put on it is pretty evident. You're very talented in character poses, and the balance of colors too ;)
Sumai is quite the leader there, I like that... lion-y big cat (or whatever he is )
The first picture is very sweet and artistic, in all it's simplicity it's able to capture the essence of love :cheese:
What comes to the second picture, I don't know anything about the story behind the drawing, but I always liked the way you color your art, such detail. I also like it how you made it seem like the perspective is on the character on the middle by making everything else more or less out of focus. Well done ;)
Those are both so awesome, Kanu. :3 I too actually have some TLK fan art to share due to valentines day. Timitu's secret santa usually helps me get something cannon-based out at least somewhat annually. x3

Kanu: As usual, both of your pictures look really great. In the first one the mood is captured wonderfully, and in the second one, the whole concept is just amazing. I really like how you blurred out the characters who are the closest, it really gives a sense of perspective. :D
Kasei: That looks really nice. I like the effect you did with the water and the moonlight shining on Simba and Nala's body. You should post more stuff. ;)
As for me, I've just started working on something new which I'll post here when it's finished (I haven't drawn much this year, I'm in a bit of an art block. Ugh. :woe:)
Thank you so much, everyone! :)
Kasei, that's so beautiful ^^ Wonderful work on the shading and the water, and I like how the foliage kinda "frames" the characters. That they're very well drawn too goes without saying :p
And here it is:

Who says you can't be happy when it rains? :psst:
Can't believe how amazing everyone's art is :)
Kanu, would it be rude to say that I like the sketchy one of you and TL better? :p It's a lot more raw, and nice :)
Love your painterly technique Kasei
And KS, Simba does look very happy, nice work on the colour scheme too, I'm terrible at those.
I drew something too, speed paint type thing of Zazu for the current archive contest.
http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/A...urFlightsm.jpg
Haha, no, it wouldn't :p They are done in entirely different styles, so it's a matter of preference, really  I kinda prefer the sketchy one too anyway, haha
Really nice work on the colours, KS! :) Keep working on that anatomy; remember the tail connects to the spine ;)
And yours looks very cool, Azzy! I really like the texture and the style you've used for Zazu =D
Thanks Azzy. ^^ As for yours, it looks great. Nice textures and style for Zazu, like Kanu said. :)
Also, a tip... for the colour scheme, just use a screenshot from the movie as reference. I copied and pasted one of Simba from here and also took the colours for the background and Pride Rock. ;)
Thanks. :)
As for the anatomy, half of his tail is actually supposed to be hidden by his body, but I guess I didn't place the perspective well. :hehe: Anatomy isn't one of my strong points, hehe.
Aha! I knew those colours were familiar
If you want some help with it I'm always happy to provide feedback as much as I can, if you want me to :3 Which reminds me, I need to write up that critique thread again since the original was lost :'D
Thanks everyone :) I had fun with it, though Zazu's face is always hard to do in my opinion.
Just going to maybe um... brag a little here
I completed Pg 1 of a comic that these silly lion king characters in my head won't let me leave alone!! I have about 10 pages sketched, not much, I know. But I'm looking forward to it, despite the taking over of the brain part :p Here's hoping it doesn't fizzle out before I get to the whole interesting part, or just not fizzle out at all would be good too.
http://fanart.lionking.org/Artists/A...ionsP1P1sm.jpg
oh that's beautiful! Can't wait to see more :D
Yay, comics! :D I wouldn't know personally, but those seem like quite an endeavor. Good luck, looking forward to seeing more :)
Oooh, nice, Azzy! :D I look forward to reading more! I've been wanting to try my hand at making a comic too, but I never get particularly far before I give up... xD
I have this OCD about using TLK stock art to influence my own art; I like to be unique, like most artists. I don't want to use it.
Issue is, I haven't drawn anything very TLK in a long time, except Mufasa; he didn't turn out to my liking.
I blew up a stock art just to get the first photo of me and Lweek drawn together; created a new vector and modified the faces, etc..
So the base is copyright to Disney.
I'm the type of person who has to do a few observation runs (mimicking or duplicating original) before the style is memorized and I can implement it into my own without using stock.
So, for the future I hope to get better; until now, oh well.

D'aww, that's so sweet. The faces do look nice, really clean lines. Never thought Lweek was that dark, but I do like the colours. :D
Ahh cool, I suppose it's just the interpretation of colour pencils, it can be hard to match colours right.
Awww, it is so sweet http://leahalalela.org/images/Lea%20...barassed-1.png I like it very much. It doesn't matter it is inspired by stock image. http://leahalalela.org/images/Lea%20smilies/th_love.png
Azerane: I'm dark brown with creamy belly and caramel mane. Picture I have in my profile is not corectly colored. I think Olven (author of that image) tried to do my persona creatively. I think it is alright. As a photographer I know that colors are individualy changing with light so she drew me in a sunset or something. :D
