Xenn 4, a low canyon in a secluded jungle. This one's for Lunarcat, because she's so damn cool that she needs herself a canyon in a jungle.

You too Ges and Sombolia!
:D =D
Totally sick landscaping, Pnt.
New image showing some revisions to my mech design, including adjustments to color, reflectivity, and additions to the model itself. Additionally, I've added in a short bit of script that rotates the body an amount determined by the average rotation of the feet. It reduces the number of elements I must adjust manually during animation.

^Great work Bahati ^^
Awesome work Bahati!
Hey Bahati/Pnt; what programmes do you use for your art? I'd like to give it a go.
We both use Maya, but you could use virtually any 3D application. It's a bit expensive if you want a legit copy (I always try to get legit copies), but their student discount program takes something like 90% off the original price. I also use Vue for landscapes.
Here is my next Frankie comic. This one starts on the bottom left like the last one

Very nice Zazulover :D
Frankie is cute!
Are there any sites that would have any good, but easy to understand tutorials? I wouldn't mind giving it another try too, those renders you and bahati make a freakin' sweet.Quote:

It feels a bit cluttered to me.
I've never found one specific site that carries all the necessary tutorials.
Maya itself comes with its own share of walkthroughs and they proved immensely helpful when I first started out. Since then, my typical strategy has been to Google a few key terms in the process I'm trying to perform and see what comes up.
Of course, nothing is a total substitute for trial and error, the most fitting characterization of my Maya learning style.
EDIT: And that cello image is fantastic. That shading style rubs me the right way.

You like? It?s Zafara^^
First of all, I'm in love with that pic; as bahati said, it's a great shading style.Quote:

As for tutorials, I have one here in The Mirage and there's tons on the internet. So far, the best free tutorial resource I've seen is www.highend3d.com. If you're willing to pay some cash for some quick and useful knowledge, www.digitaltutors.com offers tons of DVDs on Maya with focus on different areas (I recommend Advanced Shading Networks to anyone using Maya, the information is priceless. I just got photorealistic car modeling as well, it's a huge DVD set, but very informative). Gnomon workshop also offers some great DVDs, though some can be much more difficult to pick up quickly.
Googling for tutorials is also a great way to find more obscure ones.
If you want some advice about starting with Maya, don't get too far into modeling before you start some serious training in rendering/texturing/shading networks. Rendering is what brings an image together, it can make poor models look professional, but if not used correctly, even professional models can look poor.
I'll give Maya a go during my Mardi Gras break.
And thanks for the comments.
I did this in Gimp with paintbrush and smudge tool. Refrence pic used. No filters or special effects used, and 5% or less special brushes.
Very proud of this one.
