Naeri followed Shakou away from the gathering. ?Tell me about it,? she murmured back. She paused as Shakou suddenly ran off and sat down, looking after him. ??I wonder where he?s going?? She looked up to Sengalo, then turned to Scout. "Of course I know them." She pointed to Shakou. "He's my grandpa, and he's showing us around."
-------
Scar sat down slowly, watching Shakou?s approach with a stone face. His acid eyes showed little emotion; the old lion was torn between joy and rage. He knew Shakou?s role in his death, and he also knew that this lion was one of his only chances for surviving. And as much as he wanted to strike out with all the force left in his body and give his mentor something to remember him by, he resisted.
He instead sat still, hiding his aggravation. Reforming a bond with Shakou would help assure his safety and, hopefully, lead him to Zira. With the two of them and the loyals he undoubtedly knew he had he would be able to begin planning again to claim his throne.
And this time, of course, Simba would not escape.
"Oh really"? Scout said in amazement. He was surprised because he had heard that Shakou had mentored Sengalo. ANd anyone who did that must be cool. "Well it's nice to meet you". Scout said with a bow of his head.
