board games
So, who loves boardgames? :D
My family is a huge fan of The Settlers of Catan!
Well, my dad really ...
But we all like the game, hehe.
My dad has got like 20 different boards from it, original games, expensions, etc ...
It's just heaps of fun, as the board is never ever the same!
And they have so many different versions, Europe, Rome, Atlantis (is an expension pack though) Belgium/Netherlands, USA, etc ...
As for me, I have all the 2-player Catan games (regular version, space version, dice verions) with expensions.
Space version

The original game

And then there's Ticket to Ride.
Which also have different versions, like USA and Europe.
It's kind of like the Catan game.
My boyfriend has the USA version, and I really loved playing it.
As a very very late birthday present (= read, 6 months later, lol) he got me the Europe version.

And then there's:
- trivial pursuit, I have the family version, and 4 (!) Disney versions (incl. a DVDversion) + my sister has a 5th version, hehe
- Monopoly, gotta still love that one

Oooh I love boardgames! I grew up on board games as opposed to video games I guess. Card games as well, so much fun!
Mouse Trap
Game of Life
Scrabble
Squatter <3 an aussie game based on owning a sheep station and growing it and surviving droughts etc. Even has it's own website: http://www.squatter.com.au/
Holiday
Candy Land
Carcassone (spelling?)
Times Up <3
Snakes and Ladders
Monopoly (though not so much fun anymore, I always lose xD)
Then for card games there's
500
Cheat (also known as bulls***)
Uno
Norweigian poker
And some other game we play at my grandparents that I don't remember the name of :p
-
Oooh yes, Mousetrap! We have that too.
We also got Cluedo, and Peking; which is quite an old game, with lots of mistery.
I hate Scrabble, I'm so bad at it -_-
-
Monopoly! :D
Though I must admit I played the Mega Drive computer game version more than the board game...
...Does it still count? :curious:
-
Oh my gosh, that reminds me, Yahtzee!! I LOVE yahtzee.... was playing that on my computer for a while until I ran out of free plays
-
Ooo totally Yahtzee !!
I have the PC game if you want it !
(I have it somewhere on my external HD)
-
An addition to games already mentioned:
Scotland Yard
Star of Africa (a Finnish title)
Rahaa Kuin Roskaa (unfortunately don't know if there's an English title for it..)
Rummikub
Pyramido
Kimble
4-straight
Twister
Donald Duck's Flea Boardgame (I've only seen the one copy that we have, so I don't know how popular it was or how widespread)
As for card games, I have more recently (meaning a few years ago) been introduced to Magic The Gathering and Munchkin. And ofcourse more regular card games than I can name.
-
Also, Pictionary used to be one of my favorites!
I'm so getting the udraw tablet for my Wii, hehe
I even have a Lion King board game, so lame, but who cares :p
-
Forgot to mention the quiz games like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Trivial Pursuits...they were always popular in my family!
:cheese:

I used to play loads of board games while I was younger. Among them are...
- Mouse Trap (That was such a great game!)
- Monopoly (A popular one, even though it seemed to last ages. :headache:)
- Guess Who?
- Twister (TLK twister is the best. ;))
- Scrabble
- Crocodile Dentist (Be gentle with the croc, otherwise risk having your finger bit off! :gasp:)
- Elefun
- Pictionary
- Snakes and Ladders
- Buckaroo
- Ker-Plunk
- Connect 4
- Operation
Some of these aren't really board games, but they're not video games or anything like that, so I think they can go here too. :p I really should dig out my games cupboard again. I kind of miss playing board games.
-
Whatever happened to Mousetrap? It was so popular back in the 80s, then it just faded out while games like Monopoly, Clue, and Battleship get new versions every year.
I highly prefered the classic version of Guess Who? to the new cartoony one.
Stratego is always fun, as is The Game of Life, and nobody can beat me at Risk.
I have over 600 Pokemon cards, but I collect them, not play with them.
I got the TLK board game at a yard sale for 50 cents. Turned out to be missing half the pieces. No wonder it was so cheap.
-
I have to say Monopoly and Yahtzee are my favorite board games.
-
The only time I don't like Yahtzee, is when I have a headache :p
The same with Boggle, they're both noisy games! Otherwise, I love Boggle too!
