I'd say Simba, but I like Kovu because he's so misunderstood.

Oh dear Frith. Tie between Timon and Pumbaa for me. :gasp: I can rarely think of one without the other...but if someone was holding a gun up to my fat head and telling me to pick, I'd pick Pumbaa, because he doesn't have nearly as many fans as my favourite emotionally constipated drama queen. :o *brick'd*

Simba! He has always been the one for me because I know how he feels sometimes and I can recognize me in his situations because I been to some hard things before wanting to know what I should do and who I really am. Even tough I have'nt lost my parents as Simba has - (really happy for that, they are the best, love the so much!) But in some of his situations I can recognize myself in.
Simba is the best! :D

...Besides Timon and Pumbaa, I like Simba a lot...the stages he went through reminds me a lot of me...I was outgoing, disobedient, and playful but still all-around cute when I was little, and when he's an adult (though I'm a young teen) he's still sort of playful, with a Hakuna Matata lifestyle (up until he goes back to the Pridelands) but is much more unsure about himself and...stuff. And when taking SP into account I'm still sort of like him because I have a VERY hard time letting go of the past, I'm not very trusting, and I'm overly protective.

But after Timon and Pumbaa it's Zazu. Then Banzai. Then Simba. Then the other males. Whoot. :o

It's gotta be Simba...Though I have to say Kovu was the only decent thing to come out of SP :eww: oooh the controversy...hehe. Still I'm a faithful disciple of the first film so my favourites would probably all come from there....I might also add that Simba in SP was very annoying.

Was I correct in hearing the producers say at some point that Ed was meant to be the one that acted stupid but knew it all really? If so I'm not sure they quite put it across like that! :ayecapn:

Maybe they should have given him a single line somewhere near the end that showed he was actually the most intelligent of the lot.

Why? I think he is so sweet. And he acts like most people had done in the SP, so I think he is intelligent but a little confused sometimes but not that much in the SP.
And he has the right to be that.. because all that who happened.

Yeah you might think that way va-kasi. I just cant help I think exactly the same way as Xinithian.. haha.
And still.. they are foolish. Vitani is very rough sometimes against the others, and Nuka is too unresponsible of Kovu. And Zira is a lioness who cant see light in things. You don't have to kill other lions to find a way to be one. Theres other ways to fix problems than that.. And she cant she that!! Dumb.
And the others.. Lets just say they cant follow their own thoughts.. I mean before they get friends with the pridlanders.... :p

Save the world from evil scar? Scar was exactly like Simba explains to Kovu in SP. He was stuck and lost in the dark.
The pridelanders are playful and loving to their cubs.. They make sure their cubs are growing up in a safe way with a good childhood.

*applauds* HEAR, HEAR!

Dude, Scar was a psycho. He was intelligent when it came to toying with someone's mind, and being persuasive, but guess who else was? ****in' Hilter! Heck, the directors/whoever said they meant for in one part of Be Prepared that Scar was supposed to be remind people of Hitler, kind of comparing him to the psycho: the tones were that of an old news reel, the Hyenas were marching goose-stepping with their heads towards Scar, Scar was on that high cliff...thing.

Scar was not wise. Killing someone just because they didn't get what they wanted is NOT the right thing to do. That is NOT wisdom. Scar is an interesting character, as he's quite twisted and for a reason. He was neglected as a cub, as is evident in The Madness of King Scar. But that doesn't give him a good reason to kill someone, someone who was born to fill the position he wanted. Honestly, people who say Scar was the true king really bother me. I mean, the role as king is passed down to the first born male heir. Mufasa, evidently, was first born, as Scar calls him "my big brother".

I don't see what's to admire about someone who is having a hissy fit just because he didn't get his way and went killing two people...er...animals...and one wasn't really killed, but he sent the Hyenas to do the dirty work.

But I do find myself admiring Scar's powers of persuasion and being a pretty freakin' good actor. *shrugs* How else could he convince a huge clan of Hyenas to follow him and obey him, and he did manage to toy with Simba's mind on several occasions and got away with it until the end of the movie.

THEN...I remember that he killed his brother and (supposively) his nephew, allowed the Hyenas to force the Pridelander lionesses to overhunt, tried to get Nala to be his queen when she's much younger than him (and some think they are related somehow), and was freakin' stubborn. Why stubborn? Sarabi confronted him about the herds moving on and that there was no food and that they'd have to leave the Pridelands if they wanted to live. Scar wouldn't hear of it. So, they were out of food, the lands were dying/dead, and if they didn't leave they'd all starve to death. Seems to be a good enough reason to leave to me. Then again, Scar was evidently too proud to leave. He got what he wanted finally.

"At least the Outlanders are aiming for something."

Hahahahaha. So were the Nazis.

I don't mean to compare the Outlanders to them, because I think the Outlanders were unaware that Scar had killed his own brother and tried to kill Simba. I think they and Zira just new that Simba killed their king. Zira was their leader, and seemed like quite the leader to me, so they followed her. Like Scar, I SOMEHOW admire her...I guess because she's as conniving as he was. She drilled and trained her lionesses to kill and I'm surprised that they didn't have the upperhand in fighting the Pridelanders. She also had a whole plan formed out to have Kovu infiltrate Simba's pride and eventually kill Simba. I guess she was pretty smart.

And again, then I remember she was wanting to kill the rightful king.

Then again, she thought he was a murderer.

*shrugs*

Anywho, ignore the fact that I sound angry in this. I don't mean to be. And I don't mean to sound like a jerk. But I thought I'd toss in my two cents worth. ...please don't hurt me. :hehe:

EDIT: ...oh yea, for the record, I like the Outlanders and Pridelanders equally. It may not seem that way, but...yea...

My favorite male character is the one everybofy seems to have forgoteen about, Rafiki. No other monkey can fly up the sides of mountains, speak Sulu, move acroos the desert at the same speed as a lion, and still be so darn cute!

Wow, Ralli you can really explain things. Thanks for that post mate, you can really show the meaning of it all :browlift:
Just for my opionion I have to say I dont admire Scar or Zira in any way. Well, their might be smart but I really dont find it attractive to act that nazi-way. haha.. To prideful? Why? He was a great king.. I have never doubted that. A great king to admire..
Simba does give people chances. Why wouldnt he? When he realized Kovu has saved Kiara from the fire he gave him a chance to prove he is a pridelander. And I can understand why he is doubtful when he is deciding about giving Kovu a chance.. Those outlanders is following Scars trace.. (I mean .. They DID) And of course Simba is reserved against Kovu in the beginning. Thats normal behavior.. !!
You say the outsiders had a point of living..
Can I ask you, what's their point then? :bleen:

I didn't want to say anything, but I have to agree with Xinny. There is a fine line being crossed from debate to small arguement when Disney characters are being compared to Hitler and the Nazis. Not to say I am offended or anything, but a few of you need to take a deep breath.

Now that's quite a surpsrise. I thought your favourite male TLK character would be Scar since you've put his name in your username. But then again, Rafiki is also great.
