DA Description (sums it up nicely):
Now I don't know what it feels like to have cosmetic surgery but whenever I watch ultimate makeover or the swan the people always complain about how much pain they're in after they get a nose job or something. Well consider having your hands stretch, you're feet completely cut off and replced with replicas of your hands and fur follicles sewn to both your hands and feet, you would be in immense pain! Technically Monkey Fist's feet would hurt a hell of alot more then his hands but I couldn't get a good pose so I just went with the hands. Also, remember DNAmy put those hands on and when MF said "Dangerous genetic surgery" I don't think the fact that he was getting reattachments was the real danger if you get what I mean. Was probably very messy.
Knowing MF he would probably be an impatient, disobedient little so-and-so and remove the bandages before he was told to, telling everyone to leave him alone and let him get on with it.

Kinda went over board on the blood, but you try painting one speck of blood and stopping yourself from painting a butt load more. This was going to be in an operating theatre but I was to lazy to draw it all in, besides I think the dark red tones make it more intense, I don't know.

Wow, awesome work mushroom, I don't think you went overboard on the blood at all, it gives it a stronger feeling. You did a wonderful job on the expression and colouring and I agree with you on the background making the pic more intense, it looks great. :)

Thanks guys, and yes Mizani I meant to say Oliphant, as it is an Oliphant from Lord of the Rings ;) see it has four extra tusks. Two little ones on the sides and two underneath and the main tusks are larger. And I haven't yet attempted to draw an elephant form a side on view yet, not sure I'd be able, it's quite easy from the front though. :D

DA Description;
Darwin loves Eliza sooo much, lol, aww I loved the line in the film, was so sweet. Only problem was it was never followed through, loads of terrible things happened to Eliza and Darwin didn't even try to do anything about it, I know he would, bad writing there, he should have tried to save Eliza when Sloan grabbed her in the valley or something. I don't know it was just a shame that such a beautiful line was never followed through.

I feel this design for Eliza is soooo much better then my last one, still not quite there but still an improvement, looks more, Eliza. And Darwin looks more the character too, except, HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A CHIMP! ARRGH!!! Dang apes are so hard to draw.
I debated for a while whether to add the tears on Darwin, but since after that line he does turn away and wipe his eyes I decided to add them. The image has been resized though so you can't really see them anymore.

Hmm... I don't know, if I try to figure out Photoshop some day. :D Brad actually installed Photoshop on my laptop for me though... (Very nice of him!) But as of right now I am using my Dad's laptop, mine is away, being fixed. XD I could always color on MS Paint though. :p Besides, I don't think the characters in Balto are even shaded. Simple enough to color on MS Paint. Maybe I'll do it.

In my efforts to learn Photoshop for doing my art instead of Paint Shop Pro, I decided to revisit my old mech sketch. Everything's been redone in Photoshop--outlines, colors, shading. At the same time, I discovered how to use Dodge and Burn, then proceeded to go overboard with it. Enjoy.

I picked up an application called Swift 3D last night and started fooling around with it. The modeling features themselves aren't as powerful as some other packages (3D Studio Max, Maya, etc.), but Swift 3D has the unique ability to export models as vectors in .swf format.

I've still got plenty of things I need to figure out how to do, such as boring out the barrels on the twin gatlings or adding spaces for missiles in the missile racks. For now, however, my focus will be on getting the model to walk and perform various other movements.

Oh geez. I was voicing my opinion, not extending an invitation to be flamed. It's just really annoying if you work really hard, and then actually bother to show it to someone, that they just keep ignoring your piece (excepting Lunar, who I thank for the comment). Iv'e always felt like this, and Im sure lots of others too, who just wouldnt speak up because they were scared. Well Im not, so....get over it. If you cant take my opinion, dont. But no hard feelings, I dont make enemies, life's too short. So I still like you and everyone else, even if they dont. (BTW, I really liked that animation series you did on art pad, I dont have the patience for such involved work. End randomness.)

Threw together an animation for gun deployment. The timings for each step are unfinished, presently just a half-second long before the next action kicks in. The entire animation itself is less than two seconds.

EDIT: The default resolution Imageshack displays the animation at is twice the intended size (640 x 480 on IS, instead of 320 x 240 original). To get rid of the pixelation, select the 320 bubble to the right of "Change Resolution Width" down near the bottom of the page.

I wasn't flaming you, I was voicing my opinion. In art, your efforts are never wasted, nevermind how many ignore you, criticize you, or give you gushing praise. If you're happy with your art, that's all that matters.

Same model, but different angle and an additional pose. I've got the 1280 x 960 render set as my wallpaper at the moment, though my wallpaper selection has already changed a few times today. The next step I'm planning on doing is animating the transition from the rested pose (left side) to the deployed pose (right side).

Sombolia: I suspect that I'd have to pick up a different 3D modeling application to do any lions or landscapes. The software I've been using, Swift 3D, is suitable for morphing geometric primitives enough for depicting machinery and such, but lacks greatly in its ability to go beyond that efficiently. I'll start looking into finding a 3D package better capable of capturing the organic feel of creatures and geographic features.

Well, I would have really liked to have had it cropped and text added before I had posted it, but I have a problem with PSP, so I guess it'll have to do. The picture is very large, and was actually scaled down from twice it's size, so I linked to my deviant art account. Check out my DevArt account for the finished product. I'll make the overall picture a bit more visible with a second point light just above the handle. I wanted it as dark as possible, since that's how I feel about it, but it's a bit too dark.

On a more up-beat note, here's a quick, and crappy, preview of another piece of art. I would say it's about 10% finished, so there's still a lot to be done. It's... abstract... Started off as a metallic flower shape, I changed the shape a bit, constructed a whole new shading material and network, and... yeah... Enough people have said it sucks already, so feel free to add to that, but really, I don't give a damn, I think it looks perty :p
