The old Sega Genesis TLK game (which was also on SNES) is coming to GOG.com, along with Aladdin and The Jungle Book. I'll admit I didn't play them when they came out (I didn't have any consoles as a kid) so I'm tempted to check them out.

I'm definitely checkng these out. It sure brings back good memories from when I was a kid, both TLK and Aladdin were pretty cool on SNES, but I'm curious about these versions, and I've never seen that Jungle Book one before :)

Wow, that's a snazzy trailer!

I got to see this game once in an airport waiting room. It's insanely difficult.

They're already available. You only have about 3 days and 7 hours to get the release date price. Personally, I still have a working Sega and SNES, so I'm good.

Funnily, one of the screenshots features the leopards Leor mentioned in one of the TLG threads.

Bought and downloaded :D I bought all three, just about to install TLK. You also get a 16 bit poster with each game

I think these are the PC versions of the game. As for Lion King and Aladdin, they were quite similiar to the SEGA version. However, the music was a little bit different. I've still got the games on my floppys somewhere, but I think I'll buy them anyway ;)

Just keyboard. I'm having trouble beating the hyenas at the end of the Elephant Graveyard level. I can't run under when they've blocked me in, and I can't jump over because I'll land on another one. So dumb. :p

It's pretty cool that GOG.com is offering this. I have a Sega Genesis, and I also own The Lion King and Aladdin for it, so I don't think I will buy this bundle of games. I have never played The Jungle Book, but I'm sure I could find a used copy on Ebay if I really wanted to play it. I bought my copy of Aladdin on Ebay over 10 years ago.

I actually have both TLK and Aladin for SNES.

Hmm I just found out that the Aladdin game in this package isn't the same one from SNES, which is the one I played as a kid.
The SNES game was developed by Capcom, while the Sega Genesis one was developed by Virgin Interactive.

There's some debate about which Aladdin game is the better one, but most people seem to think the Sega Genesis one is superior ><

I'm very slowly getting better at the game :D I've progressed from being stuck at the end of Elephant Graveyard, to Hakuna Matata today. Now I have a big issue with those silly spiders on this level. I also didn't get to explore the level where you're running out the pridelands, too busy running away from falling boulders. How crazy.

Also, is there a secret area on the Timon Bug Hunt mini game? I've played it so that I've gotten all the bugs, and yet the game doesn't end and I have to kill myself on one of the spiders :P

Virgin is okay for me, I played a lot of their games during those years.

What surprised me that TLK developer was Westwood studio, the main studio who make/made Command & Conquer, I trust those folks in my heart and soul but I am yet to play Grey Goo by the ex Westwood developers.

I had the game as a kid, both for the SNES and Genesis. I could NEVER get past the I Just Can't Wait to Be King level. I could never remember what order I was supposed to roar at what monkeys.

It took me a long time to figure a way out of the "I just can't wait to be king" level. Once past that, it seemed a lot less frustrating...until the "Be prepared" level, where I was stuck again for a while.:p

I really spent too much time as a kid, playing the DOS version of this game. I remember clearly the day I reached the "Hakuna Matata" level and I was very happy...but then I had to go to some musical performance with my parents and I was very frustrated, since it was impossible to save your progress at the time.-_-

After having a good childhood moment, I never seems to touch this copy of the game. But my only intention to buy this game is only for Aladdin game which have to be the best Film Video Game port in my mental state. It's not that I'm frustrated but I don't feel any excitement attached to the game.

if we still talking about Disney game? I hope they port Tarzan PC game to GOG again, it's been 19 years since I played it.
