Hehe, my original NES is still chugging along and I already own most of those games.
Still, I'll definitely be purchasing one if I get a chance. Hopefully, I won't destroy it in a fit of rage whilst trying to beat Ninja Gaiden.
:)

*wishful thinking*
...I wonder if they'll make a Game Genie to go with it?

I still have my old NES up and running too  and I already own some virtual console titles, but that NES mini does look kinda cute, I'm sure it'll have its nostalgic buyers :)

I know the minority of the video game enthusiast would love a hardware emulation or port instead rely on software or software emulation. I'm kinda good and feel blessed that we have a hardware port for this one and most importantly dragging it to the hotel in another country.

BUT, the hardware disadvantage is lie on Pokemon series, as you watched that you could not do hardware transfer from original Gameboy to 3ds. while that's a bad news? the good news is that you could transfer your pokemon from GBA and above using the hardware trading cable and wireless transfers.

^ Nathalie

I think the console are 30 years old for NA and EU. Same with Nathalie, I got the console 25 years ago, before upgrading it to SNES in 1995.

I'm not sure when it came out, it's about 25 years ago, could be a bit longer ago? I was 7 or 8 I believe. It was THE newest thing (Nintendo, or the Sega, but you couldn't have both, haha)

Ahh, the early 90's.

Yeah, the console came out 30 years ago, Mario had a 30th anniversary last year for original Super Mario Bros. Sega didn't enter the gaming business until late 80's/early 90's to compete against Nintendo.

while I was born 3 years after it came out but I am glad that my brother had that machine when I was 4. Contra game: Always have replay value. But I'm down if there's any sales on Mini NES.

but If you do have physical cartridge for NES, SNES, and Genesis? be sure to check this out Retro Duo Portable

I do think we still got it in the 80's, which could be right, if I were 7-8 years old, so could have been 6 years old aswell, haha, which would have been 1989, or 1990.

I'm perfectly old enough to have had the original console growing up, but I didn't. So, this will be an interesting way to live this part of my childhood that I missed (and I missed a lot, apparently >.>).

Aaaaaaand now it's being discontinued apparently.
It's a real shame 'cause I really wanted one but wasn't able to find one...at least not at an affordable price.
:(

Guess I'm sticking with Sony.

if you want a retro console there are way better consoles than NES Mini.
NES Mini is using emulation which isn't 100% accurate.
There are some FPGA-based 100% accurate retro machines (even better - FPGA allows you to redesign original components to add HDMI, saves, remove flicker etc.) like AVS. ;)

I believe they've done this because they forcing us to play all the NES game on Virtual Console (Which means Switch). It's not that they didn't have market it just they didn't know how to market against Scalpers. :(
