Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows what this plush may be. It's listed as Simba, but I'm wondering if it's just a generic lion plush. I don't really see much in the way of TLK plushies with glass/bead eyes, especially without the surrounding eye colour marks. Also the paws are the wrong colour.

It does look like the plush-style from back in the 90's.

Unless the seller can provide a pic of a tag maybe, I don't think this is a 100 % Disney version.

I thought it looked 90's too, but really not sure it's Disney. I asked for a pic of the tag and one from the side. Thanks Nathalie :)

I got a super quick response :p Not a Disney Plush, made by some company called Lemonwood with no mention of Disney on the tag.

That was fast, hehe.

The thing is though, some people don't know any better.
They find a lion plush in their home tucked away somewhere, not really familiar with much Disney, and they "assume" it's Disney.
Happens with so many items these days, I keep noticing this more and more often.

(and some would just put "lion king" in the title, knowing it's not, but hoping it'll get sold faster like that)

Yeah, I know. :p I think that's probably what's happened, just makes it easier to sell if it has the name "Simba" attached to it.

It's a knockoff. Simba's fur is more yellow, and his nose is pink, not black.

Black nose really should've been the first thing I picked up on, you're right :p Still, figured it wasn't quite right and that's because it wasn't.

That one looks familiar. Over here we had a lot of "Fake" lion toys that resembled Simba and Nala. But usually you could easily tell them apart from the originals. A few years ago I started a list with some. Interested? ;)

Sparkasse's"Meetuh".
This one is quite popular in Germany, because you could get it from your "Sparkasse". It's a German bank and once a year, there's a "world saving day". Then, small children can put the money from their piggy banks to their account and in return they get a present. Usually a plush toy or some other small things. Well and around 1994 this lion looked a little bit like Simba so some fans over here started to call him "Meetuh".

Another one

This one looks very similiar to an original Disney Simba, but it has different fur and no tags so it's probably a rip-off.

She looks very much like the small kissing-cubs Nala by Mattel. However, she has no tags and isn't an official toy.

A plushophile is a person who loves plushies. This can range from simply being a collector, to those who like to cuddle and sleep with their plush, and every shade between.
