View Full Version : The old Alpha Male wolf comes crawling out of the woodwork...

Hey all, been to long. It has been some 3 years now since I have been a reg here, and things sure have changed. I think we only had the red and dark blue themes back then. Sometimes, life just gets in the way of things. None of us are the same teens we were back in 2005. But things have recently changed for me in a way that allows me the freedom to come back. I was drawn back when I saw on the old Lea FB page that a new TLK series is coming out.

As far as I go, I'm actually in a really good place in life right now. I know I mentioned my near death experience and my godfather's passing last summer. Much as those events sucked, it really gave me a new outlook on like. Our time on this planet is precious, and can be snuffed out at any moment. Every second of every day should mean something.a

Anyway, for all those who don't know me, I am a 30 year old American male who has Asperger's Syndrome. I am a long time veteran of Lea, joining the community back in 2005, and was on the now long gone Lion King Domain forums before that. I am an animal lover who was deeply inspired the first time I saw TLK. That being said, my animal obsession is with wolves. I had a fursona a LONG time back, but haven't even thought of him in forever. I am happy to say that I WAS able to recover all the stories I wrote back then (Never underestimate the usefulness of Wayback machine. It will save your skin.)

Anyway, a close friend of mine actually gave me his old lap top(apparently not THAT old, as this thing has Windows 8 on it), so now I have much more online access and look forward to making a full time return here. I will be updating my profile and contact info shortly.

Special shoutout to my old mate, Gunter, who was like a brother from the other side of the world to me in the past, and to Ammarlys, who has never been anything but sweet.

Hey Feral! what a pleasant surprise to see you back here :)
I heard about those things that happened to you, and I'm very sorry about it, but I'm glad to see you having a new outlook on life and feeling much better. you've been missed around here, I bet you.
I remember having read the last story you posted here, which became quite intriguing. I'd welcome any new material you have to offer ;)
Anyway, welcome back, Feral :hugs:

Welcome back to Lea, Feral!
I think we've never met before, but I'm excited to see another long-term member return. You must have really been through a lot and I'm glad you explained about your Asperger's. Now I'm curious: I know many people with Aspergers but most of them have found out about it later in their lives. How was it for you? Did you find it out later or when you were a child? If you like you can write me a PM and tell me more about it, but I certainly don't want to urge you. Just do what you're comfortable with :)

And I've relied on the WayBackMachine a few times, too. I so can relate to that. I'm glad you could save your writings. Perhaps you could share some of your works with us again, if you feel like it.

Anyways... welcome back and I hope you can enjoy your stay here and find it meaningful :timonhug:

Hey brother, I'm glad you're back to Lea man. Sorry to hear your personal losses and the near death experience, as I been through a lot lately to be honest. But I'm glad we both patched things up for a better future. Welcome back :hugs:

Thanks, guys.

Kirauni, it's no problem. Being 30, Asperger's didn't yet exist when I was a kid. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD, OCD, and depression back then. I wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's until I was in my early 20s. I do have OCD and severe anxiety, though.

I plan to upload those old stories to my little personal site once I touch them up a bit. I'd be glad to post them again here as well.

Welcome back, Feral. It's good to see some more long-time members. Not sure if I've ever shared it with anyone here, but I also have OCD, though I know it affects people differently. Any way it manifests itself, it's definitely frustrating, though.

I don't think I ever heard about your experiences last summer, but it sounds like you've come to terms with things.

Indeed, we're working on some new themes. The Lion Guard theme is active, and a 20th anniversary theme is in the works.

Hah, I just found out that you were the one who set up a temporary Lea Halalela Forum back in 2011 when the site has been down for some time. Thanks for doing that! I think that helped the members to stay in touch, at least a bit. It's fun to go through some of the old threads and see how the restoration process went.
I'm a kind of hobby "forum archeologist" and I love reading all kind of sources on a forum's history. It helps me to understand the community and their background a little bit better. Yes, I know that's weird XD

Weird? Perhaps a bit. But is also shows dedication. It's really great to see a new face getting so involved with our little community. I still have that old temp forum tucked away on my webs account here./ (http://leahalalela.webs.com/) Who knows, might be useful again someday.

Thanks :zazublush:

Yes, I've already found the link while doing some... research. I think it was a good decision to keep it. Just in case.
But hopefully, we'll finally have some peaceful years ahead. Of course, you can't be sure and prepared for everything that might happen. But since I moved the board last November to my webspace, the site has been quite stable. Thank God!
So let's just hope for the best.

Uhmm.. would you mind if I integrated the "interesting" topics of your backup site to this one? Technically, that's not a big deal.
Again, I don't want to replace your temporary forum because I think it's a great idea in case something happend to this site. But I think it would be great to have the topics like "your favourite Lea Moment" or so here, too.

Oh, absolutely, go for it! Those threads are doing nothing but gathering dust where they are. Need anything from my end to do that?

Kirauni

Nope, I'll start right away :)
Just a matter of copy & paste. Since there are not that many threads it's not necessary to write a scrip for it.

I'll let you know once I'm done ^^
