I got it [my collection] on my computer...an SP winamp skin and a TLK winamp skin and screensavers thanks to SimbaTLK and his site =D as well as TLK audio clips from Brian Tiemann's site, and several TLK-sites in my favorites :diva:

@storm90: Is that book on the right the sheet music for the songs? If so we have that book, my sister bought it years ago, it's not in good condition though. I bought the broadway sheet music not all that long ago.

Yeah, its sheet music for the cello and I only got it a year ago. I can play most of the songs except for "Can't Wait to be King". The beat ish hard...

Well this isn't TLK merchandise unless you count the DVD box as reference, but I wanted to show off my new 105" projection screen:

Removed dead link

Now if only I had a better camera for dark shots. I haven't had time yet to watch the whole thing w/ the new screen, but it's going to happen very soon when I get some free time. I did pop in the laserdisc to see how the quality of that looked, and it can't even touch the DVD in terms of video quality.

:wow: Super cool SoulImbibe and the picture might come out better if you take the picture during a darker scene like say the one where Mufasa tells Simba about the great kings of the past.

EDIT: Fixed the Image a little bit, it's not great but I did what I could in a few minutes.:ayecapn:

Oooh really? The cello, that's cool. Our's is just the basic piano music but it's still cool, I haven't tried playing them in a while though because I've been trying to get Endless Night right, it's taking a while but I'm getting there , slow but steady. :D

Wow, great TV! That brings new definition to "Home Theater".

Here's more of my stuff, I just added the new stuff to the list at the bottom, minus the "objectionable" pic ;).

Plushes and Puppets (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/plushes.JPG)

TLK II Set (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/figurines1.jpg)

Pumbaa figurines (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/figurines3.JPG)

TLK Figurines (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/figurines2.JPG)
The thing on the right is the "Circle of Life" TLK Music Box by Schmid, it is adorable and plays the song.

TLK Cologne??? (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/cologne.JPG)
This is by far my most valued and rare item, the official Lion King "Eau de Toilette" cologne spray! It was never sold in the United States and I got VERY lucky on Ebay and found someone overseas that was selling a brand-new bottle of it. It is made with 100% natural fragrances and actually smells really good!

Collector's Plate and Scar's Mask (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/plateandmask.JPG)
Here are a couple of nice pieces, the "Circle of Life" Collector's Plate from the Bradford Collection (made in USA) and also a very cool and detailed prototype of Scar's Mask from the Broadway Musical.

Wall of Lithography (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/wall_of_lithography.JPG)
My Lithograph Collection, matted and framed. I also have the "Hula" litho w/Timon and Pumbaa but it's not on the wall yet, and two more new ones are on their way to me.

NEW STUFF!

Skybox Trading Card Collection and Nesting Dolls (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/skybox_set.JPG)
The complete Skybox I TLK trading card set in the collectible binder, including the rare foil and lenticular cards! On the bottom right is a set of hand-painted Russian Nesting Dolls.

New Simba Plush so cute! (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/new_simba.JPG)
Here's a cute little guy I picked up from the new thrift store near my work, this was the only TLK item they had in stock!

Posters, Fun Stuff (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/posters_funstuff.JPG)
Three posters, "Hakuna Matata," A Lion King special Edition DVD poster on my door, and the original black movie poster with all the characters. Also in this pic are some board games and jigsaw puzzles I have bought off Ebay and the DVD's. The binder in the upper left holds all of the Skybox cards.

Books and Music (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/books_music.JPG)
All three of the TLK Sheet music books along with their respective soundtracks, and some of my books. I have a few more TLK picture books hiding somewhere.

Art of the Lion King (full size) and Pride Rock on Broadway are AWESOME, so inspiring and full of neat info, if you are a TLK fan you need to read those!

That's all for now, enjoy the pics and keep posting your cool stuff!

I wouldn't say it smells "bad" but it's really strong for cologne. It gives me a headache if I use too much or am subjected to it for a length of time. Smells like the Serengeti after a warm summer rain. Yeah. That's it.

I've got the shaving kit somewhere. (don't ask ) I just got my Nala and Scar TLKoB mask ornaments in today. Whoever provides the measurements at DisneyDeals.com needs to go learn to use a ruler again. This is the third thing I've gotten that's much bigger than the sizes they have on the auction listing. :hmm:

Arrgh, Disney Deals.com raised the prices for the Scar and Nala TLKOB masks from 4.99 to $30!!! I should have bought the Nala one earlier... now i have to wait until it goes down again. I wonder why they did that?

I did just buy the Sarabi plush from Disneydeals for only $9, I first saw it at Starlioness's house and I knew I had to get one!

Books and Music (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/books_music.JPG)

NEW STUFF

New Plushes and Lithographs (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/newstuff.jpg)

This pic features four beanbag Walt Disney World plushes, featuring Scar, Shenzi, Banzai an Ed, an enormous Simba plush about 3 feet long, a LE litho hand-signed by Matthew Broderick, the voice of Simba, and a Simba's Pride litho.

Muffy & Sarabi, TLK Six New Adventures and more (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/newstuff2.jpg)

Here you will find the ultra soft and ultra cute WDW Mufasa and Sarabi plushes, the Enesco Scar figurine, the TLKOB Timon plush... and

Grolier's TLK: 6 New Adventures! If you have never seen what these books look like before here they are, the case is also pictured. The stories themselves are quite cheesy... especially the one about the rapping vultures...

The Lion King on Broadway shirt collection (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/tlkobshirts.jpg)

These are my TLKOB shirts that I wear on occasion. From Upper left and going clockwise:

1. Scar: "I'm Surrounded by Idiots" shirt

2. Logo in Fiery Orange color

3. The first TLKOB shirt I owned, my "lucky" one with the huge lion logo (I placed 2nd out of 40 people in a city poker tournament wearing this shirt)

4. One of my TLKOB sweatshirts, the logo is actually sewn on instead of printed

5. TLKOB 2002-2003 Ntnl. Tour shirt, all the cities names are on the back. Is yours on the list?

6. TLKOB World Premiere shirt, on the back it says "Orpheum Theatre, Minneapolis" July 1997.

I think I'm going to take a break from collecting for a little while, my bank account's has taken quite a hit :woeisme: from all this merchandise.

Here's a complete list of everything in my collection, if you want to see a pic of something in particular let me know:

Just hit start>run and type D:\ or whatever the name of ur CD rom is, find the installation file (most likely setup.exe), right click it, click properties, click the compatibility tab, check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select windows 95. Click OK. Then Launch the installation file. That should allow the installation to continue. Good Luck :cheese:

Here is me with the only piece of TLK merchandice I've ever owned or ever will own.

Because the hyenas are tragically unloved by the greater TLK community, I have to fill in with the obligatory, "Hey, remember how much Jazon likes hyenas and won't stop telling us?" post.

Behold: SHENZI AND JAZON (http://www.turquoise-star.net/images/IMG_5384.jpg)

I was upset about no Scar or hyenas too, to be honest. ;.;

And sorry about the scene... I always like it when I was younger because Scar looked so cool doing it, but I was also upset about the hyena.

Can I make it up to you? :emo:

And thanks much, LC. :D I wore it to TLKoB with a yellow shirt and black pants... I looked foul, but there was no way I was going without it. xD

I think Disney could make it up to me with a TLK spinoff movie all about the hyenas. Or they could release a remastered version of TLK in which Scar doesn't get to needlessly murder one of his supporters for the sake of looking intimidating; then again, that would require Disney to give a flip about hyenas, which they don't.

Amaryllis
August 19th, 2005, 01:02 PM

I was eyeing a couple of Ebay auctions just now... saw two Limited Edition TLK Cels with background jump from ~$600 each to over $900 in the last 2 minutes. This seems incredibly expensive for something that was never actually used in the film, and retail price was much higher, $2650 each.

I think I'll just stick to lithographs for now, until I get rich or something.

Alrighty, here we go. Here's 98% of my new collection.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/SPpS.jpg

Plushies from the Simba's Pride promotion at McDonalds, except for the cub Simba in the middle row ( next to Pumbaa. ) He's a bean from a Kellogg's promotion.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/Pose.jpg

These can move/be posed in some way. ( Yay fighting Mufasa and fighting Scar! *dance* ) There're more, but they're pictured as duplicates.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/Nonpose.jpg

These can't be posed or move, except for two with wheels. Random lioness is included here, even though her head movies. There're more, but they're pictured as duplicates.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/Duplicates.jpg

These are all my duplicates... Cut off on the left side are three Timons, except you can see most of one. I may pull a Neph and give some of these away eventually. ( PS: MoS has FIVE SCARS now. :wicked::evilgrin::jejeje::woeisme::thinks: xDD )

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/Inside40th.jpg

This is the picture inside the two Disneyland 40th The Lion King celebration figures.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/Sanaki/BKMcD.jpg

More promos... The four boxes are fingerpuppets I think, and the other six thingehs make noise in some way. Mufasa roars, Simba cub-roars, Timon says "Hakuna matata," Pumbaa belches, Ed needs a change of batteries, and Rafiki laughs. ( Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! O.o Kreezy.)

omg omg :wow:

The DVD I've been looking for the past year has arrived *hugs ebay tightly*
(sealed and everything)

http://images.fotopic.net/y98ry0.jpg

It includes the normal 2 disc version, but the cd, although it has the red cover, it's actually the 1994 edition (without "Morning report").

Mmmmm... DTS... I want that version too but I'd need a region-free DVD player first.

Yeah, France is also R2.

Beats me, why they actually use different codings

Wow, nathalie! i would like the brazilian dvd had an edition like that, 9at least, we can buy the cd by separate)

Hehe the DTS that have in this dvd is not TOO much diferent for a normal ear, but, if you want quality, yes the DTS is a little diferent, has more quality than the dolby digital DEHTM track

Anyway, if you have a region 1 dvd player you can get the brazilian edition 9it are both encoded for region 1 and 4 even the cover not telling it )

Region 4? That's Australia right?

People say, that an R4 DVD plays in an R2 player aswell.

I can't really tell the difference between DTS and 5.1 / 2.0 Surround, hehe :D
(maybe 'cause we don't have DTS, haha)

ThiagoPE
September 23rd, 2005, 12:36 PM
hehehe Nathalie, Region 4 PAL is australia/new sealand and it is real, MOST, I said MOST of the Australian/European have the same masters so both are encoded region 2 and 4, For Brazil and Latin America, that is Region 4 NTSC and even United States and Canad?, also happen of most dvds be region 1 and 4 encoded.

About DTS is true: You just can enjoy the REAL dts if your equipaments of sound and dvd play have this logo http://www.dtsonline.com/media/2005/logo_home.gif if not you can?t even hear it, or if you hear, you are hearing an emulated version that definetively NOT is the real dts.

Yeah, you use a Dos emulation program

Basicly its a window with a version of windows DOS inside compatible with xp. So you can run any dos application in this window.

Its a bit tricky to set up and configure correctly, so my friend is coming around tonight and giving me a hand. If the dos emulation dont work, i just simply install the whole Dos operttiing system onto my pc along with XP :D.

http://www.hasbro.com/common/images/products/22510_imageMain200.jpg

A Lion King Play Doh collectible! I found the Simba one, that was the only one there. Has anyone else seen this before? I had no idea they existed, nor did I know Lion King merchandise was still able to be found in stores. Most of my stuff is from yard sales, flea markets, and eBay.

Has anyone else found any TLK merchandise in stores lately?

We had those in Toys R Us last year, they were kinda cool. Didn't buy them, though I was tempted to :p We get a little bit of TLK merchandise here every now and then, had some cool figurines just over a year ago now, there were two boxes, I bought one because I only had the money for one, but then when I went back the next time they no longer had them :( So I missed out on some really cool figurines. I don't see much merchandise, mostly because I live in a rual area. However, when I went to New Jersey I saw a large Nala plush at Marshall's store. Ok.. ok... so, there I was at Uni today, minding my own business, and I see there's a poster sale thing happening, you know for posters of celebrities and landscapes, cars and movies and all that stuff, so I wander in and take a look around while I wait for my bus. I take a look in the movies section to see if anything catches my eye... and then I see the kids section, so risking embarrassment, :p I wander over and start flicking through them... then to my great suprise I see it.... It's been so long since I've posted in this thread I can't even find my earlier posts about my collection, but I have some really cool news to share!

My TLK collection was selected to be a featured exhibit at the 2006 Puyallup Fair at Western Washington Fairgrounds! (It's one of the 10 largest State Fairs in the country)

I've always enjoyed looking at other people's collections and finally applied this year, sent in a letter to the Chairman with pics and a description of what I had, and sure enough I got picked and he gave me one of the largest display cases too, which I thankfully needed. I actually went down today to set up, it took over three hours and I'm going to have to go back down tomorrow because I forgot a few things. (It's like a 40 minute drive... :grrr: but it will be well worth it)

I'm just so excited to be able to share my love for TLK with the over 1 million people that will visit the Fair this year (the website is Puyallup Fair (http://www.thefair.com) ) - hopefully kids and their families and even young adults that were kids when The Lion King came out will view my exhibit and get reminded of how great the movie and the Broadway stage production is and revitalize interest in it for many more years and future generations - that's my goal.

When I go down to the fairgrounds tomorrow I'll take a pic of the display case so you all can see what it looks like! If anyone here lives nearby and is planning to visit the Puyallup Fair this year, please be sure to stop by Hobby Hall, check out my Lion King exhibit and drop me a line, it would be great to hear from fellow Lea members.

For the record I have over 420 individual items in my collection now, and unfortunately I wasn't able to fit a lot of the stuff I wanted to - I left basically all my TLK shirts at home as well as the larger books and I was only able to display six or so lithographs. Somehow I got all the plushes in there, they let me put the big ones on top of the case itself. I think it looks pretty good right now, but I'll probably be doing so rearranging tomorrow cuz I'm picky.

I'll post some pics tomorrow night.

That is so cool. :D It's crazy that you know exactly how much stuff you have. I have no idea. I can see at least 50 figures from where I'm sitting right now. I can't wait to see pictures of your display Tim. :)

:hmm: I should do an inventory. I did ask my mum about possibly getting it insured so I'd have to inventory it anyway.

That's cool Tim !

I actually have an inventory like that, lol, but I lost track a few months ago, so I'm gonna need to start all over, hehe.

Haha, everyone's collections are so cool! =D Being a relatively new TLK addict, I only have the special edition DVD (for some reason it didn't come with the sleeve thingy...that bothers me :alone: but whatever), Simba's Pride on VHS, and a young Simba plushie that I *just* bought. I used to have random figurines and Burger King toys, etc. when I was younger, but a house fire kinda ruined that. >_>; Grr. But yeah, these collections are all so amazing, and also quite inspiring.

Edit: Oh, as a matter of fact, I just found this old cassette tape that my mom bought for the family when TLK first came out, it's some kind of sing-along cassette tape for the lyrical songs from TLK. Yay.

Here's my whole display case with me in front, all the big plushies are looking down on you!

A better look at the top two shelves

http://students.washington.edu/tim300/fair/tlk_exhibit3.jpg
The main part of the collection, smaller plushes on the bottom and TLKOB stuff and figurines on the first shelf, in the lower right corner I put my TLK skybox I trading card set that you can't see in the pic.

Yes, that is a TLK bowling ball in the bottom left corner!

Top right, lithos, large books (can you see the TLK 6 New Adventures box set?) nesting dolls and a signed movie script

http://students.washington.edu/tim300/fair/tlk_exhibit5.jpg
More books, lithos, ornaments, snowglobes and music boxes, and yes a very cool TLK gumball machine!

A closer-up view of the whole case

I have about 30 TLK and TLKOB shirts and I was only able to display 2 of them unfortunately, but it would have been pretty hard even if I did have room to display more stuff, most of my TLK books were sent back home as did about half of the lithos and some of the bigger things like puzzle boxes, games, but I'm very happy with the way it looks now.

Fair starts September 8th, can't wait to make some visits and get the chance to talk to people about my collection!

:)

That looks so cool! I see the little Scar beanie. :D I hope your CDs aren't in there. How will you survive without hearing them for that long? I'd die. :gasp:

LOL yes I did think of that at the last minute, before I left for the fairgrounds I took all of the CD and DVD's out (except for the Chinese TLK II and TLK 3 DVD's and now I want to watch those, darn)

My room looks awfully bare right now... kind of depressing to look around and see just about nothing.

For the record, here is my complete inventory, after the last update it stands at 440 items and counting.

Tim's TLK collection (http://students.washington.edu/tim300/fair/TLK_Collection.htm)

And yeah Amanda thanks again for the Scar beanie! If I didn't get it from you I would have had to buy him in Shanghai to complete the TLKOB beanbag collection before the fair.

Welcome to Lea, Waterkeeper! Sorry to hear about that house fire... hope you can start up your TLK collection again.
