Quite an interesting article on the National Geographic website, it's quite long (8 pages) but still really interesting. It's amazing how we're still learning so much about animal behaviour, I guess because for a long time it wasn't really accepted that they could be smart and think for themselves, like people could.

It should be common sense that animals can think for themselves, otherwise they wouldn't be able to recognize their owners, play, socialize, exc...

Interesting article, though.

Ah, I was learning about that parrot early last year in an Animal Behaviour lecture :cheese:

Pity the rest of the module still makes out that animals are automatons, just reactors to stimuli. /sigh

animals are hell lot of smarter then we are...they dont destroy the planet,they do no un-nececary killing "etc etc" the only thing we are better with in animals is that we are " Smarter" but they arnt the one destrying the planet
