Everyones heard about it, now its time to discuss it.

A tiger, escaped from her enclosure, mauls 2 and kills another. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7161471.stm) This article was made soon after the tiger was shot.

This article is a review of what happened. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7163195.stm)

Any opinions?

Aren't the police looking into the possibility that they boys were throwing things and taunting the tigers? I think they said they found foot prints and rocks on the tigers' side that didn't belong to the keepers. I haven't been home, so I haven't seen the news today.

Ah, so the wall height was actually lower than the recommended minimum? That's interesting.
What's also interesting is that it's a "recommended" and not "required" minimum.
What's yet even more interesting is how 12 ft actually passed safety inspections - methinks there's something in that system that requires serious perusal.
...and no security cameras?

I haven't heard anything about footprints and/or rocks, only that the tiger apparently had a "significant amount" of concrete on her back paws.

ya know this is the same tiger that bite of a feeders arm" or something like that"

personly..i cant say am sorry abut anything "exsept for those innocent ppl who diead"

the tiger did nothing wrong at all having one locked up at zoo makes alot of risks..."note am not saying "burn down the zoos" all am saying if my arm would be bitten off by a tiger i wouldent blame the tiger

makes me a little sad though becuse i was supose to vissit that zoo with audra and STM "but it was when the man got his arm bit off" so the feeding of the felines got canceld " until one day after i left" so i never got to vissit these felines...it makes me sad really that i never got the see the 4 year old before it got shot..

Aha! Now they're saying that the boys had slingshots on them...
Unfortunately, there's no proof that they provoked the tiger with them...but one can always speculate.

They also found whiskey in one of their cars. I feel really bad for the parents of the boy that was killed. They just want to know what happened in the events leading up to their son's death. The whole situation just sucks.

^ agreed HK =/

I dunno, i still feel that tiger would not have expended the extra energy to jump over the wall and attack three people. Something must have provoked or triggered her, whether unintentional or intentional.
