Here you can discuss anything about Disney sequels. Discuss which ones are good, okay, bad, or just plain terrible.

I haven't seen much Disney sequels, but the film that I thought came the closest to the original in some ways was "Kronk's New Groove". If you compare it to lots of things going on in The Emperor's New Groove, then you'll realise that it's crap in some ways, but I think it really retained if only a bit of The Emperor's New Groove's unique, and wacky humour.

I haven't seen Bambi II, would anyone recommend it?

Edit: Woops, I just realised I created this in the wrong board. Could a mod please move it?
Edit: Thanks.

Sequels, pre-quels and mid-quels should be banned.

Period.

Haha ^^

Apart from Toy Story 2... But can you blame it, it's Pixar, Pixar rules :p

Shrek 2 and Toy Story 2, are possibly the only sequels to a film that are actually better than the original, in my opinion.

Shrek 2 was funnier and more exciting, and Toy Story 2 was just miles better in every way.

I hope you're sticking strictly to the realm of animation.
I can give you a list of at least 10 sequels that are better than original releases, but they're not animated.
;)

But, sticking to animation, don't forget
Rescuers Down Under.
A lot of people would probably disagree but I like that sequel much more than the original
Rescuers .

O_O

How can you say The Rescuers were not as good as the sequel? When you've got songs this good (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xYjz1cIzGOM&feature=related) or this good? (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb6W59_GRT8&feature=related) I have always classed the Rescuers beginning sequence as one of the best beginnings a movie has ever had. Gotta love that random floating letter-in-a-beer-bottle ;) Eh, The Rescuers were a staple part of my rather early youth, same as Animals of Farthing Wood and TLK I guess >.>''

I'm not fond of the -idea- of sequels but I buy some of them. Hell, I bought Lady and the Tramp 2... should give a good idea of how stoopid I am >.>''

Quite easily - if I don't like the characters, I don't like the movie, regardless of how good the embroidery is. ^_^

Ah true, true. But if you don't like the characters, how can you like the sequel with the same characters still in it.. if they were?

I've often heard that The Rescuer's Down Under was the best Disney sequel of all time. Obviously, in my opinion, it could never ever be better than the original because that's just how it is with Disney movies, sadly.
