And it comes out a day before my birthday...just like an early birthday present that you have to pay for unless you sneak into the theatre to see it illegally...:D

This will either be epic win or epic fail.
With the way the series is going, I'm gonna go for the latter.

I liked the old episodes of The Simsons, watched it all the time as a kid:browlift: The new ones are so vulgar though, the poor show's lost it's charm. What 'tis the movie about?

This movie will do great! Hopefully, they'll kill the series off after this movie!
The newer episodes are worse than stale bread.. :woeisme:
Either that or make every new episode a "Treehouse of Horror-like." Would be much beta!
:p

Your sentence doesn't make sense. I use the word *tis* a lot, and its a joining of *it* and *is*. It is still used in Yorkshire, so not too olde Englishe ta ;) The way you were doing it would come out like *What it is the movie about?* Which makes no sense, thus Neph was right. Then again, Neph knows her English better than most.
Example - 'Tis a cold day.
Example replacing *is* with *was* - 'Twas a nice day yesterday
Anyway, the movie sounds sucky. Too much bandwagoning again. I imagine most material has been used in the series, but that doesn't mean it won't be a good watch. Will watch out for ratings on it first.

^Sounds colloquial-ish.
Different vernaculars. People have it. :p

Since we got Cable Television (damn that infernal garbage), we haven't watched The Simpsons in ages. It seems to me like its popularity has really fallen and that this will most likely stop being talked about soon after the initial excitement wears off. But I could be wrong.
In my city's newspaper, The Oregonian, we had a list of "19 reasons why "The Simpsons" is the best thing that's ever happened to pop culture". The second reason argues that the series is not only influenced by pop culture, but also influences it. The irony of the whole article is that the title of reason number two is: "The Pop Culture Circle of Life."
Hmm...

Yep. I review in the paper today said that it was like a long "okay" episode. I'm not as pumped and excited for this like I might have been, say, two or three years ago.

I saw it the other night, it was quite funny. It certainly wasn't the funniest movie I've ever seen, but I didn't exactly feel robbed of my ?4.60 either.
7/10 from me.

Yea, someone's seen it already! I hardly trust reviews I read anymore (only becaue they're so darned radically different from how I percieve the film at times), so it's good to hear from an "actual" person.

The Simpsons is my favourite show of all time. And if it weren't for The Lion King, this movie would be my favourite of all time.
It could've been done a bit better here and there, but overall it has something that the show has been lacking since Season 10, and that's all I care about.
I can't wait to buy this on DVd.
