;) thanks anyway..

I read this:

The "Legend of the Lion King" is a great show for all ages, however, the kids will love it more! The show's Theatre is located directly across from Cinderella's Golden Carousel, left of the Castle.

Shows are every hour and the lines can be long, try to hit the earliest show or one before closing to avoid the long lines and to assure yourself a great seat.

As you enter you will see large wall pictures of the characters in the "Lion King," such as Simba, Nala, and Mufasa. The first section you will enter will be your pre-show area where you will meet your Narrator, Rafiki, the baboon.

Rafiki goes on to explain what the show is about and to sit back and relax, he even cracks some jokes about the audience! The lights go down, and a screen appears in which you watch the first scene from the animated movie, "The Lion King." This scene contains the famous song, "The Circle of Life" in which you will see a gathering of every type of animal in anticipation of the new lion cub, Simba.

The doors to your RIGHT will open and you will be seated for the next portion of the show, the stage show. I suggest you sit towards the BACK because the stage is raised and being to close you will miss things that are going on towards the back of the stage.

This is the best puppetry you will see anywhere! Your kids will think they are really seeing Mufasa and Simba having a father/son chat or Timon and Pumbaa eating live bugs! (Yuck)

Our first musical number is "Just Can't Wait to be King" sung by little Simba and his annoying bird friend, Zazu. Each scene is combined with puppets and animated scenes played in the background.

Scar makes his appearance in the next scene singing his personal song "Be Prepared" with the laughing hyenas, Bonzai, Shenzi, and Ed.
Scar will appear on the LEFT side of the stage, for those children who do not like him. As his scene begins, smoke is shot out of cannons to provide the dark and misty atmosphere of his lair, so be aware!

The next scene always breaks my heart as I'm sure for a lot of you as well. They mix in the Scar, Mufasa, and Simba puppets in with the background of the antelope stampede which extinguishes Mufasa's light. Simba is forced to leave the Pridelands, never to look back...

My favorite two characters make their appearance in the next scene. Timon, the Meerkat, and Pumbaa, the Warthog, sing their signature song "Hakuna Matata." This is a GREAT number for the kids!! This is also an important scene as we see Simba grow from cub to lion.

This scene is where my daughter started to cover her eyes and groan as the song "Can't You Feel The Love Tonight" plays as Simba and Nala fall in love.

Simba then searches for understanding of his father's death as he visits Rafiki for an answer. In doing this, he is visited by his father's spirit and reassured that he is part of the Circle of Life. Simba is filled with new life and travels back to the Pridelands to reclaim the land and put Scar in his place. The fight between Simba and Scar is short and on screen, nothing scary for the kids.

The ending, as in the movie, provides a feeling of fullness as it teaches the lesson that everything has a circle of life, as Simba and Nala present their own lion cub to the new following of animals.

Side Note: all actors and singers who represented the chracters in the movie also provide the singing and acting parts in this show as well.

Don't miss this great show and as always, have a great vacation at Walt Disney World!

WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THAT BEING THE SAME VOICES AND ALL!!! :grrr:

The Legend of The Lion King was a fantastic show. Everything about it was amazing. Fortunately, I live right here, 30 minutes from Walt Disney World so I was able to see it a few times. I was devastated when they discontinued the show.

The original voices... if I remember correctly, most were the original voices. Of course, this was just a playback; the puppeteers did the real magic. After the wonderful musical Circle of Life intro, and then the puppet show, you were escorted into one of the most fantastic places on earth: A Lion King Gift Shop. It was heaven. I can even remember items that were on the shelves.

I have really, really missed this show for several years and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Sharifu
February 23rd, 2004, 06:57 AM
Oh yes Sarabi I remember that! After the show you go right to TLK gift shop! It was great! I bought a nice Simba and Nala plushie!

They discontinued the show?! :Ohno: No!!! Why did they do that? When did they do this? The show really was amazing...

Legend of The Lion King wasn't at Disneyland silly! It was at Disneyworld! (The park in Florida) Disneyland is in California. In 1999, when I saw Legend of The Lion King, I did not live near Disneyworld, I lived in California! And California is very far from Florida! And yes I lived in the same state Disneyland is in, But still Disneyland was about 6 hour drive from where I lived. So I was never really close to Disneyland.

Disney World is a larger park, hence the terms "world" and "land".

Good news and bad news. The bad news, you all know is that Legend of the Lion King was disposed of. However, the good news is that you can still see Simba in that same area. It's a different attraction now called 'Phillarmagic'. It stars Mickey, Donald, Ariel, Lumiere, Simba (and I think Nala not sure though), Aladdin and Jasmine, and more, or so I'm told. Just thought I'd share that with ya guys.

A musical 4D (that's right, 4D) attraction. It combines 3D with animatronics. Supposed to be their best 3D (or 4D =P) show they've ever made.

I'm not too much of a fan for the Festival of The Lion King show purrsonally, a self-spite due to the replacement of the Legend of The Lion King puppet show in Magic Kingdom with this TLKoB ripoff (my opinion!) in Animal Kingdom. The songs are still pretty good, though. According to the site referenced, I would say that $26.99 is probably what you also are going to pay in the park. Disney will take you for all your worth, and your first born too. It's a fact. :grrr:

The next time I take a day trip to Disney Village, I'll check there for you. (I live about 25 minutes away from Walt Disney World, but the traffic, tolls and people are too much to deal with on a regular basis.) Because it's a theme park exclusive, it might only be available in the park itself. Maybe the Animal Kingdom Lodge, too. :hmm:

No matter, I'll keep my eyes open. :browlift:

It's a miracle: a Lion King album that doesn't have "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" on it! *Laughs* (I'm not against the song, but I've seen the exact same version appear again and again, with each new Lion King album that Disney releases.)

What the...? *Checks again.* Aaaah! How did that get by me? How did I miss something like that? *Laughs* And knowing my luck, it's probably the version I was talking about in my erroneous post, too! (The Lebo M. version from Rhythm of the Pride Lands, and just about every other album Disney's made.)

There's a TLK on ice too? I must be holed up in that rock with Nuka or something. Anybody ever see this one? Sounds interesting. I saw a Disney on ice thing when I was younger ... pretty interesting stuff, but I don't think it had TLK.

Can't be under the rock with me cause I knew about it. Never bothered to see it though. Mainly because I live in the middle of nowhere and I'd either have to drive, ride, or fly. Not to mention the cost of admission, and the previews didn't look too great.

I remember a post a while back where there was discussion over the CD. If you can use eBay and want one, well :bleen::

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2 F&krd=1&from=R8&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&query=festival+of+the+lion+king

There were two Buy It Now ones that are gone now (heh, guess who nabbed one ;) ). The one remaining is one you can bid on.
I don't think it will last very long, so go get it if you want it (and have the moolah of course)!

Hmm ... I probably would have bought it, too, but knowing that it is a promotional copy (evidenced by the "small drill hole in barcode"), whoever is selling it is making pure profit. Not that it has anything to do with the CD, but it's a little deceptive in my mind.

So there is all sorts of stuff that may be hard to spot about TLK around both parks (really hard to spot in Disneyland) but loads in Disney's Califorina Adventure.

It all started in the exclusive Cast Member only Parking Lot called the simba lot.
http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0184.JPG

In front of one of the stores (off the page) that sell Cel's and assorted stuff (lots of TLK stuff here compared to all other places) we... we Naline found Simba about the store!!
http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0440.JPG
http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0441.JPG

and Zazu, Shenzi, Bonzi and Ed were present!
http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0193.JPG

Then on the walls on the outside of the animation building were Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, and Mufasa!

http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0461.JPG
http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0462.JPG

the walls of the building changed into many different colors!

In the World of Disney store (largest Disney store in the world, at Downtown Disney right outside of both parks main entrance) Naline spotted this statue.. I had been in there 600 times and never saw it before!

It turns out that in the animation building they have a huge area where they do awsome presentations of Disney Films with awsome music and visual stuff.. anyway these screens are hudge and the music is loud:

and the video (the best i could do with a digital camera and :grrr: 'WITHOUT SOUND' *sigh* aw-well)

Download Now (http://lionkingdomain.com/frisco/CIMG0444.AVI)
3.06MB AVI

Thats pretty much the end of this presentation! WE HAD A BLAST doing the TLK acting thingy in this building too!!

If you mean me, well, compared to what a lot of other people classify as fun, i havn't really had any! I don't go out very often etc etc. But, this is what i like doing, just staying home, so i think it is fun. I'd go out more if i thought that was fun!

But lately i've been really longing to go on a huge holiday to a place that is totally different to where i have spent my entire life. It's because school has been giving me lots of stress lately, and i just want to get away and lose the feeling that there is homework i should be doing. Yeah, i get you're point LKD. i hadn't really considered that. But the shots would be worth it to experience the natural beauty of seeing free roaming animals and stuff. But risk of disease is something that would be there at all times, unfortunately :(

Another problem might be food. I'm sure it would be VERY different to what i am used to. :yuck:

For those who can't be arsed to follow the link, what I'm planning on doing is going on a volunteer cheetah breeding conservation project in one of South Africa's game parks for 4 weeks. It's something like this which I ultimatly want to end up doing, so not only will it be good work experience, but it'll look blinding on the CV for potential employer zoos ;)

Disney World is in Florida, i just went there this past Christmas, i go every other year. I wish I had been a TLK maniac back then because there was some really cool TLK merchandise, not a lot but enough to satisfy my wants and empty my wallet. And speaking of shots, i do not fear them, they don't bother me. I have had plenty of them, i never complain or cry when i have them becuase they are quick and only have a little bit of pain. I have had shots that hurt like hell where they switch tubes on you to draw out more blood and they really hurt bad but i didn't complain.

make sure to do the Indiana Jones expierence! Umm...what was something else that was really cool, o yeah! MAKE SURE TO DO TEST TRACK, OMG DO TEST TRACK UNTIL YOU PUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost did, i rode it 5 times in a row and wow! I love that ride! I have never been on a roller coaster before but Test Track i heard feels like one, but i don't care i just know that ride rocks! One time it locked up on the straight away when we hit 60 and we left some pretty long drags and it left a bruise on my shoulder becuase we stopped so quick. There were some other things that went wrong when i rode it some of the other times but after riding it 5 times in a row i couldn't walk very good, and i had a major headache but it was all well worth it!

It's too bad that Forbidden Mountain isn't opened yet at Animal Kingdom *shrugs* Go on Kilimanjaro safaris ;) That's awesome!!! And the Maharajah Jungle Trek and Kali River Rapids. Check out Dinosaur as well! Dinosaur was one of the best rides there, you know it's not real, but your senses are telling you otherwise! Hmm.. of course there's the monorail, I got to sit in the front. You want to sit up front on that thing if possible, the wait is worth it, it's fun ^^ Hmm.. um.. Pirates of the Caribbean. So remember our chat about Festival of The Lion King and how I felt so deprived because I never saw it, and 'thought' that I never was going to....

I was watching the TV (rare) and just I turned over to goto sleep I heard

"ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama"

And I was thinking .

So I watched and found out that it was an ad for Festival of The Lion King coming to Disneyland Parris!!

=D
looks like I picked the right time to come to europe!

Anyway show starts June 26th!!
You can count on my being there!!

Ha. My brothers were all like "gawd, Lion King comes on TV and Sam looks like she's had a heart attack". So off to Paris I go.

I saw it in Florida but YAY for it coming closer to hooome! :cheese:
Sadly the family has no money this year for holidays (my money-sponging sister's fault and the fault of idiots who drive like deranged ponies and smash into parked cars) but it's good to know that it's there.
Maybe we could get a late deal in summer or something.

I need to ask a strange question: back in may of 96 my High School Marching band and I went to Disneyland. and the band and I were marching behind a Huge Lion King float with Adult Simba and stuff.. and there were other Lion king things there.. now is that the Festival of the Lion King or something else? anyway it was pretty dang cool  would have been cooler if we actually played music from the Lion King instead of the Little Mermaid *rolleyes*:p :

EDIT: oops, I see what you're talking about now... ignore the post if you wan't *blush*

:hmm: Hmm ... you know my high school's marching band actually did the same thing ... and the same year. Unfortunately I don't remember anything specific to the Lion King (as I probably didn't appreciate it enough then for it to stand out)

starlioness, did you go to a presentation where the composers/producers of the music for these shows gave a little talk on the developmental process? That's really the only thing that stuck in my mind from that trip.

I was at Disneyland in California in 1996 and I vividly remember that parade (a girl dressed as a cheetah gave me some maracas to shake! =D ). However, TFoTLK is a Broadway-esque performance and nothing like a parade. So therefore the parade is something else. ;)

I wanna go to Londen too ...
Been there last year, really beautifull.

I think easiest way is to meet at the entrance? (from the inside).

If you have a mobile phone, that would be easy too, I think.

Hey, did STM gave you a cd for me? :D
