I think it's a live show. The descriptions on the Disney page were kind of vague. Look at this page.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stuart.snelling1/legend.html
It has some nice pictures. I've never been to "Animal Kingdom" but I guess "Legend of The Lion King" should be similar to "Festival of The Lion King". Am I right?
Hope those of you who are going there can report...:ayecapn:

I've been to the Animal Kingdom in Florida. I went to see a Lion King show similar to that one.
King Simba
June 26th, 2004, 10:24 PM
The show was.. well I will say this, It was a cheap rip off of TLKoB, and the singing.. not so good.. Stage effects rock.. The stampeed and Mufasa's spirit scences were really jazzed up.
They have a very dynamic stage, but the show moves much to quickly. The siging of CYFtLT was very very good tho!!
I had a bad seat, and Nathilie (and her cool BF) and I only made it to the last show, and it was in French *sigh*... However it wasnt so bad since the songs were in english (and there wasn't much else but songs). I kept thinking 'whats the point of having it in French if there is like 10 minutes of dialouge?'.
Bottom line, show was 5/10 - effects 9.5/10.
On a postive note, the ENTIRE park is litered with TLK goodies.. All the coke cups and tray papers.. bla bla.. everything i TLK.. And in the central 'hub' as we cast members like to call it, was A total TLK setup!! music playing (all TLK instrumentals)... It was heaven! I have pics for you guys, as soon as I can ill post em! *weeeeeee*
Mabatu
June 27th, 2004, 09:23 AM
Judging by the pics, it looks to be pretty good, but i can believe you that it would be trying to copy TLKoB.
I look forward to the pics (from the show, that is)! :D

ill have to go some time... but it probably wont be until after i have kids at this rate

I saw it yesterday, together with LKD.
It was bad ... It was kind of like a bad rip off from the musical.
Story in French and songs in English.
They just squeezed the whole movie into 30 minutes.
BUT: special effects, and dancing was totaly great !!

It's a life action show, kind of like the original musical.
Only Timon, is a guy in a costume, and Pumbaa and Zazu are puppets.

I had the worst time parking at disneyland. That Pinocchio parking area... -.-" We left and came back a little later and the entrance was closed... we payed already... so went decided to enter through the Exit. And cars were coming out that way... so we had to reverse back out into the middle of traffic. This guy was honking at us and yeah. Then tried to find another way in so we droved down into nowhere, took a wrong turn and U-turned an un-U-turnable turn... and a little later ended up parking in the Disneyland hotel place thingie. I won't say anything other than that. :wicked:

I would go there just to see and grab some Lion King Merchandise and for the Lion King decoratings ;) Oh and I thought they have a Simba animatronic/puppet? I would certainly steal that. And after I have dragged it home I would marry it. *nod*
But that won't happen at least not in the near future.
Do they still carry those huge Cub Simba plushes for 100 Euro?
I want a huge Nala to go with him but noooooooooo they won't ever do a big nice (not that bald Hasbro thing) Nala plush -.-
There was another Lion King themed show in Paris before this one it was shown until April and they had a real Lion Cub to be pulled in the air by some guy in a Rafiki Fursuit. Poor little fellow. (I saw photos)
Rafiki: I think this year or early next year there will be Disney on Ice in Germany again and they will have a Lion King part.

When I went to the Animal Kingdom in March '04 (WDW, FL), It seemed as if it was devoted to TLK. I mean, in the VHS and DVD of TLK II:SP, there's a little commercial for the Animal Kingdom. There's this bottle of fireflies and suddenly it bursts up.The second it bursts up, there's a guy singing the begining of CoL. Then there's the Tree of Life in the AK, The Festival of The Lion King, and there's the parade (Rafiki's in it.)....I mean, doesn't the Tree sound familar? ;)

Animal Kingdom is devoted to all animal life, not just TLK. TLK plays an important roll though because its entire cast is composed of animals. I think they should add Bambi in there too. They have Dinosaur in there which is cool. I went there two years ago.

I've been to Animal Kingdom once, in 2000. Boy did I love it there! I love Disney parks. I've been to Disneyland and Disneyworld. But I have been to Disneyland more then Disneyworld. (Because Disneyworld is a lot farther away) ;) But I haven't been to Disneyland since 1997, and I haven't seen that new California Adventure park. And the last time I went to Disneyworld, was in January of 2000. (If you are ever going to go to Disneyworld, go in the winter time, never go in the summer time! It is too hot! But winter there is nice.) ;) But yeah I really loved Animal Kingdom and I want to go back some day.

I'm fairly confident I've posted these pictures on Lea before, but it's been awhile, so here you go!
What better way to celebrate 50 years of Disneyland but with a parade? This is Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams, at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. There are eight marvelous floats in all, designed by one of the makers of the floats in the Rose Parade.
And what a float this one is!
Simba and Nala are sophisticated puppets, allowing them to sing, dance, and roar of course. I even spied Nala waving!
Along the route, the parade does something called a 'parade stop.' The floats are really moving stages, and at the parade stop the floats open up and a show takes place! On this float, the Tree of Life expands and gets taller, and rope dancers perform stunts from 30-some feet in the air. (not pictured, sorry, I'll be sure to get it next time!)

I took some pictures of my own while at Disneyland. They're on my Photobucket. I'd link them, but my computer is being stupid and won't let me. Those peoples who took those photos above are way better photographers than me, though, so mine are nothing compared to theirs.:idiot:
I agree, that parade was amazing. I was jumping up and down like a little kid when I saw the TLK float.:p

Ooh! Those pictures are excellent 2 Die FR! Thanks so much for posting them!
I took pics of the TLK part of the parade as well but they didn't come out too well because I didn't turn on the flash so it was too dark. (It was the 7 pm parade, it was still light outside, so I didn't think of turning on the flash) I loved seeing that float! I saw it twice too!
Makes me wish TLK parade that played during 1994 to 1997 was still playing. That parade was so awesome! I saw it twice during the summer of 1994. And I still remember it pretty well. Oh well, at least I have that TLK Parade VHS my mom got me at Disneyland. It brings back the memories. :D

I saw a clip from the parade of FotLK on a Travel Channel show called 'Disney's Animal Kingdom'. They showed the animatronics lion and the people in the parade dressed as animals and such.

I was gonna go to that like a year ago 0_o But the idea of having a parade just for TLK sorta creeped me out. lol

The initial voices... basically remember properly, most were the initial voices. Obviously, it was only a playback the puppeteers did the actual magic. Following the wonderful musical Circle of Existence intro, and so the puppet show, you had been escorted into probably the most fantastic places on the planet: A Lion King Gift Shop. It had been paradise.
