Anyone here a big Legend of Zelda fan? I know I am!

I'd have to say I can't pick just one favorite though, I have several games I love. Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, and Wind Waker would have to be them. I have played I believe... Link's Adventure(?) a long time ago on the NES, it had a gold cartridge from what I recall. :thinks:

So, what are your faves? Have a favorite character or storyline?

I love the series. Haven't played a Zelda game in awhile though haha.

Don't really have a favorite. So many memories associated with each game for me.

I really am looking forward to the remake of Ocarina of Time on the 3DS though!

:D

Very cool! Have you heard of Skyward Sword? I forget which system it's going to come out on but from the screenshots that I've seen it looks very interesting.

Zelda is pretty awesome series. The old Nes and game boy games bring so many memories from the child hood. I think the only ones I haven't beat from the series are Twilight princess, 4 swords and the 2 games on gameboy color. Well of course haven't played the Sega CD ones either but those seem just awful.. horrible abominations of the great series from the Hyrule.

I know Sharifu as a big nintendo fan will surely pick up a copy of the new Zelda game for the Wii once it comes out. :cheese:

Yes, of course I am going to buy Skyward Sword when it comes out. ;) I really look forward to it. My favorite Zelda game is Twilight Princess, and then my second favorite is Ocarina of Time...

I'm a longtime fan of the Zelda series, I have each and every game that has come out, actually (well, except for Four Swords Adventures, but I've beaten it, ha! :irule:)
I can't wait for Skyward Sword to come out either, I'm definitely getting it :D As for Ocarina of Time for 3DS... that one will have to wait, I don't have plans to get a 3DS yet

Oh, wow... you're such a fanboy. :p

As for me, I want to play the Zelda games at some point. Maybe I'll have the chance to while I'm in Mexico this summer. ;)

Lol, the CD-i ones? Nah, those don't count, they weren't made by Nintendo  all I've done with them is checking out the cutscenes on youtube ( oh the horror :woe: )
I can understand why you'd be sorry for me, I'd be too :p

Awesome to see so many Zelda fans! Anyone have a favorite song or more?

Kopa
April 25th, 2011, 03:29 AM
I'm rather fond of Saria's Song from OoT. :D It always puts a smile on my face whenever I listen to it. :)

Yeah, Saria's song has a cheery effect on me too, I like it :) Gerudo Valley is also great too

I really love the Song of Healing, Zelda's Lullaby, Queen Rutela's theme in Twilight Princess...

Saria's Song is great too, especially when you get Darunia to dance, so hilarious.

 Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that scene! That was pretty funny and it brings back some great memories! To be honest, I think I had the best experience with OoT. I still love the series as a whole though. :cheese:

I love the Gerudo Valley song and Desert one from Twilight Princess. I remember the first Zeldas from the basic Nintendo, piss me off and you can't even foigure them out anymore..least I can't when i play. A classic for me is A Link to the Past and Ocariana of Time.

I am proud to say that I currently own almost every entry in the main Zelda series.

The Legend of Zelda(NES)-My favorite NES game
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link(NES)- Hardest game EVER!
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening(GB)- the internal battery is dead, so can't save.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past(SNES, GBA)-Another favorite
The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time(GC master version)-One of the greatest games ever made, period!
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's mask(N64)-Ironically, I really don't like this game
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker(GC)-I liked it, but the sailing could get very tiring.
The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap(GBA)-Alright game. I like the shrinking/growing feature.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess(GC version)another fantastic game. Still working on it.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass(DS)-Another one I didn't think highly of. Hated the whole hourglass thing.

As you can tell, I am a HUGE Zelda lover.

Oookay fellow Zelda fans, I'm so mindblown by this that I thought it'd be worth to share here :ooo:

Remember that awesome Skyward Sword trailer from the GDC? and remember how awesome the music on it was?
For some refreshment (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49MWuwSxv2c&feature=player_embedded)

Now, here's how it sounds playing it backwards... (http://soundcloud.com/rawmeatcowboy/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward)

Sounds familiar? ;)

I
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link(NES)- Hardest game EVER!

I dare you, I double dare, try Shadowgate without players guide or walkthrough on NES and you WILL change your mind I'm sure... I played the game when I was kid and I did not finish the game until about a year ago finally giving up and going through with walkthrough. But yeah Zelda II was rather random with it's towns that appear from random forest that you have to cut down with... A hammer? But yeah we were able to beat it with my friends before we ever were able to use the internet ;)

Wow, weird. Pretty ingenious by Nintendo, though kind of lazy too.

Sadly, I do not have a Wii...

I don't have a Wii either (nor a PS3). xD So I still play my Zelda games on my N64, SNES, and GameCube. :)

Do you mean that as a "composers are running out of ideas!" thing?, because I highly doubt so. I don't see anything lazy about giving fans a cool easter egg. And there'll obviously be new music in Skyward Sword :p

Iv played most of them , freaking awsome, though Ocarina of time takes the cake, all the way.
i did like Twilight princsess alot aswel, becouse i liked they chanced things up with Wolf link, but the snow peak temple was so exotic too, compared to other tempels in zelda history.

Skyward sword....not impressed ,at all...nu-uh no excitment there, for me im afried this will be the "one" bad Zelda game that will haunt us forever. but hopefully im wrong.

Whoa, they actually made a new piece of artwork for the European boxart of Ocarina of Time 3D! :cheese:

Doubling posting :p

Whoa, there are quite some Zelda news from today's E3 press conference, worth a post :ooo:

First off, here's a new Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer, check it out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG8WNWJlZow&feature=player_embedded)
And here's a boss battle with that mysterious flamboyant character, whose name is now revealed to be "Demon Lord Ghirahim" (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2011-boss-gameplay-cam/715236)

For the newly revealed Wii U console, they showed off a really impressive tech demo of Link battling a huge Gohma thing. In my opinion, it looks sweeeeeet! ^^ I really wish it wasn't just a tech demo, but at least gives us some idea of how a Zelda title would look in the new console
check it out! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arHNcSMXaBk) :cheese:

Did you know Robin William's daughter was named after Princess Zelda?

This Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1XWQ3tmKWg) made me smile :)

King Simba

I saw this the other day. I knew Robin Williams' daughter was called Zelda, but I didn't know until you told me. ;) In that case, if naming kids after video game characters is legal, I think I'll name a kid Mario... or Luigi. Or maybe even Yoshi. :thinks:

But I gotta say, in that trailer, Robin Williams looks a lot like the character he played in the movie Jumanji, particularly when he just came out of the jungle. :curious:

Oh, and 400th post! :diva:

I'm undecided if I want to buy Ocarina of Time 3D or not... I do have a 3DS, and Ocarina of Time was a great game... But I'm not really the type of person to replay the same game more then once. Of course if I played it now I would not remember 100% how to do everything in the game, so it wouldn't be so bad. But just for the updated graphics and seeing in 3D is pretty tempting. I don't have any 3DS games to play right now. I only have one game and I beat it a long time ago. I might buy it later if a Saving Certificate coupon comes out at the store I work at, we'll see. (A saving certificate coupon is just a coupon where if you buy $50 worth of items, you get $10 off, spend $100 get $20 off, spend $150 get $30 off. If there is a game I want but I'm not in a hurry to play it right away, I usually wait for a coupon like that to buy it.) I saved over $50 on my 3DS by using that coupon and getting my employee discount... :D Honestly, I wouldn't of wanted to buy a 3DS for the original price of $250, I think that is too much.

I am very much looking forward to Skyward Sword, the big birds are awesome. :p

Ok ok, maybe with that exception, yeah  I'm basing my experience with past Zelda games, maybe :p

Sharifu, I think it's quite worth to give OoT 3D a chance, I'd so love to play this updated version, it has many more visual details and bonuses included, even a mirrored Master Quest, which you get after finishing the game once ;)

Well, I think I will get it, but I think I'll just wait a little while to see if there will be any coupons I can use next week. :p I'm not in a rush to play it right away. Leor, are you planning to eventually get a 3DS?

(I'm "typing" this post from my 3DS right now) :p
