Looking for a movie ... "What about Amy?" ??

Hmm, this is such a long shot, but for years now I have been trying to find this movie, and cannot find it through google anywhere, I've tried so many search words/phrases to find it, and nothing.

It's based on a true story.

I always thought the title was "What about Amy?" but since I can't find anything on that for years now, it might not have been called that.

It's about a mom and her daughter.
One evening, the mom goes to evening school or goes to do some late night grocery shopping (can't remember which one, but she does leave in the evening), and leaves her young daughter home alone.
The daughter tries to cook something, but it all goes wrong, which ends up with social services taking the daughter away, and the mother can't seem to get her back, and the daughter goes into foster-care.

Can't remember any of the actors, they usually aren't famous ones in movies based on true stories.
I think I saw it last when I was 13 or so.

I can only remember the story line.

I think your description is a little to vague to really find the movie you're looking for any of us who know nothing about the whole movie. Is there any real plot line you remember from the movie besides the child ending up in foster care? Like what was the movie about because minor things like that usually are not discussed in plot line...

Also do you know if the movie is Hollywood or could it be made in Europe like UK or something. Or can you remember where it was taking place?

Have been looking for this movie for 10 years or so.

I was a teeny weeny bit off with the girls name, but this was the one I was looking for
