I like the ROTPL soundtrack myself because it features a lot of great music based on the films. Favourites on that soundtrack are "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "Lala", "One By One", "Lea Halalela" etc. I like just about all on that CD.

I love all TLK cd's, doesn't matter which language :D

But from RotPL, there are like 1 or 2 songs, I don't really like that much.

kool, i like that kinda stuff, i tell what i would like to see, i love the soundtrack "we are one" from lion king 2 but i think the singing ruins it , but the tune is really gd, you hear just the tune of "we are one" when kiara is about to start her first hunt and you hear it at the begining of the credits so there must be somewhere where you can get it. ive looked around but have not found nothin can anybody help. :curious:

I Luv all the soundtracks but I would have to say the original motion pic one. This Land is def my fav followed closely by We are One which was played at my pa's funeral. :(

Even those who are gone are with us as we go on. (Always)

This Land
July 29th, 2005, 09:31 AM
yey we have sumut in common.
i can see y "we are one" was played at your pa's funeral it has so many nice lyrics in it, actually "we are one" with the singing is growing on me because when u proply hear to the lyric it has some nice lines to it, u might of gatherd this on my signature.

simba2662
July 29th, 2005, 09:37 AM
Yeah I could - and the pic. Its very family orientated as everyone knows but can be extremely meaningful. I love the wind instruments especially in the broadway cd of Can you feel the love tonight.

This Land
July 29th, 2005, 09:44 AM
i love wind instuments they sound so relaxing and emotional when linked to films such as TLK
thats y i like "this land" so much, ive always liked that soundtrack, my other favourites are "to die for" "king of pride rock".
My favourite soundtracks with singing in them are "can you feel the love tonight" and "cirlcle of life".

I really couldn't agree more. When I was younger I preffered, just cant wait to be king and Hakuna matata, but now I appreciate the music so much more. Especially the chants in zulu, they are so warm and inspiring. :)

I also think Shadowland is an amazing piece. Something about it that makes it different just like This Land.

This Land
July 29th, 2005, 10:06 AM
i couldnt agree with you more aswell
have you had that experience when you was young and you watched TLK and you though nothin of it, just funny and entertaining, but then when u watch it again when you are older you think more of it, u feel more emotional through it

Shadowland is an amazing bit of work. Awesome song.

I love "To Die For" as well - it's definately got the creepy vibes. "King of Pride Rock" is a great song, too.

And I always <3 Be Prepared for I am a fangirl that way.

But like I said previously, Elton John's version of CYFTLT is my fave.

This Land
July 29th, 2005, 10:36 AM
elton john's version is brill. ive already learnt it full on the piano with the chords and everything, i have also learnt this land and circle of life on the piano aswell, Thanks to the internet i could download the sheet music . :) it took me some time but its the ultimate thing to do if you are stressed. it really chills me out when i play this kind of stuff on the piano. (i hate to brag :irule:)

Yeah I loved it when I was young but now its so special to me. I cop heaps of crap from my brother and sister about it but it really makes me emotional.

It can make me so happy 1min and then sad the next.

What songs does RotPl have on it? I really should get it to add to my lk music collection. It also has the best cover picture compared to the other tlk cd's. Listening to the scores by zimmer got me into classical music, my favorite score is definitely 'king of pride rock'.

Maybe someone answered already, but you can find the tune of 'WaO' (We are One) here http://www.lionking.org/sounds/MIDI/ . I like the WaO tune, too. I would've liked the words, too, but Kiara's screechy cubbie voice is kind of annoying :bleen:

ive just became interested into the broadway versions of lion king, they sound cool

And also i learnt quite alot of TLK soundtracks on the keyboard with the melody and chords, its the ultimate thing to do when u wanna chill. So far i can play can you feel the love tonight, This land (of course), we are one, and now learning circle of life.
:curious: Does anybody else play an instrument, if you do, can you play any soundtracks off any lion king films.:knowdees:

Katse

I used to play the flute and was able to play CYFtLT, but I haven't touched my intrument in the longest time.

When I see a piano, I sometimes finger out the TLK songs on there. I'm not much of a pianist, but I know a little bit, just enough to figure out how to play songs.

This Land
August 1st, 2005, 06:21 PM
cool, thats exactly how i learnt the main medodly of some TLK soundtracks. i hear the tune and work it out, its the best way to learn because it sticks into your head quicker.
but if you want to start learning the chords of the soundtracks most of the time you have to find the sheet music to play them. chords are pretty difficult to work out by hearing.
its a shame you stopped playing the flute thats one of the most relaxing instruments to listen to. especially lion king soundtracks.

Katse
August 1st, 2005, 06:21 PM

One of the coolest songs he had to write down, he told me :D

nathalie
August 1st, 2005, 07:45 PM
Bass and singing was hard too.

But after loads of practice hours, you'll get the hang of it.

My sister plays the piano, I tried to find sheet music from TLK for her, but couldn't really find it.
Mostly some are wrong, or not complete.

Ahh, I love the music of TLK. (Don't we all?) ;) I am a big fan of the animation, but the music (and story as well!) is so great. One of the many reasons I love TLK. :)

You should include TLKoB on that list! :p And I don't like that version of TLKII soundtrack. Return to Pride Rock is the original TLKII soundtrack, which has more songs then the newer CD. (That one you posted) Plus Return to Pride Rock is the only CD where I can listen to "I Want to See the Moon." (I like that song) ^_^

Gosh there are so many TLK songs I like... I actually listen to Rhythm of the Pride Lands and TLKoB more then the original TLK soundtrack!

I guess my most favorite TLK songs are Lea Halalela, Shadowlands, He Lives in You...

Really though I like almost all of them! :cheese:

'This Land' is my favorite music in the world! Hans Zimmer and Lebo M are great. =D
But I like all songs and score in TLK&SP Soundtracks, RotPL.
Especially I like:
All music from TLK Soundtrack, excluding IJCWTBK Elton John ver.
'He Lives in You' 'Lea Halalela' 'It's Time' 'Lala' and 'Busa' from RotPL
'We are One (sung by Angelique Kidjo)' and 'Song for the Children' from SP
'In Youpendi' sung by Wes&Ladysmith Black Mambazo from The Lion King Collection CD
'Grasslands Chant' 'Lioness Hunt' 'Shadowland' 'Endless Night' from TLKoB
and, I think 'One by One' is best in animated short film version (in SP DVD).
I wish Disney would put it in a CD...

My favorite cover art is RotPL.
BTW, in Japan some TLK CD cover art are different from US.
TLK soundtrack cover is this:
http://images-jp.amazon.com/images/P/B00005ECM1.09.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
SP soundtrack is this:
http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail.asp?sku=894882
Though CD title is 'The Lion King II Original Soundtrack', it has same songs from 'Return to Pride Rock'.
Ah, 'He Lives in You' sung by TRF (Japanese pop group) is in this CD, but I don't like it. :grrr:

The parts where Simba and Kiara sing, are instrumental. Where the chorus sings you can hear the German lines :)

Sended you a PM.

*hmm*

What does everybody think about the singing voices?
Like Jason Weaver --> sings for JTT
And those 2 man who sing for adult Simba --> for Matthew Broderick.

I could have never thought those were actually other people singing.
And adult Simba has got 2 voices (TLK 1 + TLK 2) and they look so much a like (ok, that was the deal though, haha)
But young Simba in "The morning report" sounds nothing like Jason or Jonathan.

Also weird that for 2 short lines, they would use someone else to sing for Nala.
