Windows Vista Beta 1, the first "official" test version of the company's next operating system, is being released to software developers this morning.
---

Windows Vista is the first new operating system to be released in this new era of heightened security issues. Ultimately, it is expected to run on 9 out of 10 of the world's computers following its final release in late 2006.

I'm downloading Vista as well, but will take me maybe a week during it's very hot good. :D

I installed IE7 on my XP system and works fine. It have better (close to Firefox) page rendering .. but it's new layout is very strange. If you are IE user, go on it's better than any other IE version, if not you do better don't install it. :D

ABC would probably be one of the better ones.

You should be able to maximize your connection rate by adjusting the listening port(s) with calibration between -router and the bittorrent software.

Lweek
August 3rd, 2005, 12:00 AM
Yea, MAC OS X (especialy Tiger) is really good system. I have plan to get my own iMAC as well.

I don't know how Vista is acting like (it's why I do download it) but I guess it change to better till final release. Actualy I was active betatester of Windows XP and there changed many things till final release as well. Today is XP bestest Windows what MS made. If you turn certain things off. :) It's even better than Windows2000 in my opinion because if you did something wrong with drivers on W2k, you had no chance to repair that et cetera. 3D accelerated GIU is good step for Microsoft and I hope that many other system will follow this trend.

Lweek, are you alive? i thought you were abducted by alien after the EF11 huahuahuhauhauauhahu

Leting the jokes away, how much is the size (in Mbytes) of this windows vista?

Lweek
August 3rd, 2005, 12:53 AM
Over 2400 (2.4GB) .. reason is that it's probably include new true speech API. So you can very naturaly control you system by voice (computer should answer you by clear voice). But I don't know I have test it first before I will know why it is so big. It grove up about 1500 MB since last beta (which is only two months old) and I doubt it's not because manual. :)

@Lweek: As I said, it should maximize, but it also highly depends on the servers' as well. I would like to recommend a bittorrent accelerator. = )

@S'04: I recommend "Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)," perhaps this is not what exactly you're looking for, but anyway it can be obtained here:

That torrent link was for 32bit version.
But see minimal requirements: I think it was about 1Ghz, 512Mb ram, 256MB 3D Graphic card with support for Direct3D 9.0c.

Instalation was simple but damn slow especialy when it is not show any concrete info about what it is doing.
First impression of system isn't bad .. it's more stabil than I expected .. look and feel isn't bad .. I like way what are windows animated during opening and closing windows. And I also like Voice control which is more accurate and global than before. :)
