Awesome. There was a whole category for TLKoB on kids Jeopardy a few years ago. :)
I sent out an email from work last week about the huge sleepover we have on Saturday. I put at the end "So Be Prepared. Haha." and someone wrote back "Do I spy a Lion King reference in there, Amanda?" They know me too well.

I was watching the Weather Channel this morning and they usually take a few minutes to show temperatures in foreign cities. Along with the temperature they show a panning shot of an area in the city they are talking about.
They showed Hamburg this morning and all I saw was "Der Konig Der Lowen." Made me laugh to myself.

One of my colleagues at work has a TLK mug. Normally it doesn't grab my attention, but when you consider that the people I work with are in their 30s and 40s and have no interests in anything other than football and page 3 girls, I found it quite amusing x)

Last friday it was the first show of 3 or so with this new TV program called "Talented Peeps Contest 2007". Its a program where peeps with weird talents can show them up and be judged, and only 6 will win and go to the final rond. Anywayz, the 7th number for the nights show was a girl with a monkey plushie. She said she was a ventriloquist and was gonna do a little number with her friend Totto (the monkey plushie). So she said there on the chair and talked with the monkey and answered and so, and played with the judgers too, which was fun XD The monkey insulted one of them that normally works with contracts for artists stuff and host the IDOL show a bit. Then the monkey was asked what he wanted to be, and he said he wanted to be king. And it all ended up with the monkey singing I just cant wait to be king, with the girl (cuz he was so shy in front of that contract guy XD) singing Zazus lines. In the end she looked a bit confused and i thought as well as her that she sang wrong line, but after thinking a bit she didnt, and she got to the final :D

Just a few little sightings to report I guess. We have a new lecturer for my biology class this term, and in the example diagram of the digestive system, she had put a picture of simba's head at the start of the digestive system to better illustrate where the head was :p Hehe, it made me smile.
Then in another class today, we were rewriting lyrics to a song and one guy said "yeah, no worries mate, hakuna matata." :D

well anyway, while being on the circus (http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a109/KiaraZ/RANDOM%20EVENTS/STOCKHOLM/2007%20May%2019th%20-%20Circus/) today, a guy sang circle of life when the llamas were out O_o i was like "Crap, my mp3!" but my friend said she would record it on the cellphone (and she did in 3 parts) and send to me so i could listen, cuz my digital camera doesnt want to record movies with sound >_< After they had camels and sang the main title song for Aladdin, which was understandable, but CoL and llamas has what in common? We thought about that for long after and still wonder XD

ok, i just watched this Talent 2007 again, its semi final now (the monkey that sang just cant wait to be king went to the final 3 weeks ago if i didnt mention) and there was a magician competing today. First he had some cards and told the judgers to pick one, then he was about to guess what card it was with help from his ?dangerous animal?. As soon as he opened the animals box ?The Good, the Bad and the Ugly? from TLK3 started to play, and out from the box comes a marionette pluffie (a yellow duck) XD First he picks wrong card but then he take the right one, and when he got it, ?The Lion Sleeps Tonight? started to play :D
I recorded the duckie, it was just so fun I couldn?t stop laugh during his 5 minutes on stage XD (its not fun without music i notice, but it shall be a hippie song there from some movie :D)

It turns out that Mr. Hyde has a love of Disney, especially TLK. He had a music CD called 'The Lion King and other Disney Classic Songs' (or something like that).
Also, Hyde kept on comparing himself to a lion taking over another pride. He mentioned 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' as well. In a very violent situation.

Oh man... I usually watch Jeopardy (at least the final question) but I missed it today? Was there a TLK reference? What was the clue?
I remember a couple years ago for kids week they had a set of clues taped by the Clue Crew from The Lion King on Broadway theater (I believe it was still the New Amsterdam) in New York City, that was really cool!
Here are some pictures from that episode, shown are Jimmy and Carol of the Clue Crew giving the clues on stage:
http://www.j-archive.com/media/2004-10-18_DJ_18.jpg
Answer: This "Lion King" song tells us "the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky keeps great and small on the endless round"
Question: What is "Circle of Life?"
http://www.j-archive.com/media/2004-10-18_DJ_02.jpg
Answer: It's a memorable moment in "The Lion King" when this baby lion cub is presented to the world atop Pride Rock
Question: Who is Simba?
(She even looks like she could play Rafiki!)
http://www.j-archive.com/media/2004-10-18_DJ_04.jpg
Answer: Many of the costumes and sets in "The Lion King" were inspired by the art of this continent, where the show is set
Question: What is Africa?
http://www.j-archive.com/media/2004-10-18_DJ_14.jpg
Answer: The title of this famous song from "The Lion King" means "no worries" and it's Timon and Pumbaa's motto
Question: What is "Hakuna Matata?"
http://www.j-archive.com/media/2004-10-18_DJ_17.jpg
Question: In the stage version of "The Lion King", Zazu is no birdbrain--he's the aide-de-camp to this lion, Simba's father (Zazu squawks "Aide-de-camp!")
Answer: Who is Zazu?

People at the zoo always make references to Pumbaa when they see our Visayan pigs and our Babirusas. I don't bother to tell them he's neither of these species...And they seem to get it right when they say, "Rafiki!" at the Mandrills and "OMG TIMON!" at the meerkats. I was watching "Drawn together" and they did a parody of the Lion King. The elf dude on the show escaped and left his friends (who were stuck in a van at a mall parking lot) and ran into two homeless dudes. they later started singing a song with made up words to the tune of Hakuna Matata. Later on, the elf dude saw Mufasa in a puddle of urine and decided to go back and rescue his friends. When he said goodbye to the homeless guys, he called them Ernie and Nathan.

I just got out of class today at the University of Washington and decided to get some lunch on the Ave (University Avenue, just off-campus), and all of a sudden I thought I heard the "Nants Ingoyama" chant from TLK! I really thought I was hearing stuff so I started to walk closer and it started getting louder...
Turns out one of the Frats on Greek Row - Sigma Alpha Epsilon, was blaring "Circle of Life" from the TLK movie over a loudspeaker while a few of the brothers were dancing to it on their frat balcony. One was holding some kind of plushie over the balcony like Rafiki - It was hilarious! And they looped the song, so it started again right after it ended. , and it was drawing quite a crowd.
I thought it was TLK rememberance day or something but seriously it was so loud you could hear it halfway across campus-people were like "What the hell is that???" Lion King music???"
Definitely the first time I've ever seen this kind of TLK sighting before in public.

I'm watching this standup comedian named Godfrey and he says "When you call my house, it's like the Lion King...'Is Godfrey there?'... 'No, Godfrey is not here'...'Mufasa?!'"

TLKoB was just an answer on Jeopardy. The catagory was "Songs from Musicals" and the clue was "One by One" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

Wow, talk about a giveaway clue! I hope that was the $200 question.
If I were to write a whole category with TLKOB as the answer here's how I'd do it:
$200 - "One by One" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"
$400 - "One by One" and "I Just Can't Wait to be King"
$600 - "One by One" and "The Stampede"
$800 - "One by One" and "Grasslands Chant"
$1,000 - "One by One" and "Shadowland" or "Endless Night" - only knowable if you've seen the show or heard the soundtrack
Cool to hear that TLKOB got some exposure again!
I have a clip from an episode of Wheel of Fortune in 1995 where TLK helps this 16 year old girl win a $26,000 Camaro convertible in the bonus round... I'll try to upload it next week, it's pretty awesome. I wish that was my bonus puzzle!

I had 3 sightsnings last week;
1. On the wordcontest thing on TV the question was Whats the name of the cub growing up to be king i nthe lion king 1994? And no one knew the answer ...
2. I saw an ER serie of som kind where the doctor asked if they had seen TLK as it was the circle of life and the doctor #2 was sensetive and such about sad movies.
3. Before Eurovision song contest start we need a winner from this country to sing there and the first week started last week (and tomorrow they are in my town so its crazeh in city now), and a new stand up comic guy had a poem to read and it was something about TLK. The video can be found on youtube but has no energy look for it now.

On Leno just now, he was saying that President Bush is in Africa. But he's disappointed because the leader he was most looking forward to meeting was The Lion King. The band played Hakuna Matata.

I went to the dentists today - and there was a poster with Timon and Pumbaa on it in the examination room (with teh big chair of doom!). I can't remember exactly what it was advertising, because I was more interested in what the dentist was doing at the time (lol) but it had to have been something to do with teeth (using my great power of deduction, hehe).

Sorry for the double post.
Has anyone else seen Be Kind, Rewind yet? I don't wanna give anything away but there's a scene about TLK in it - it made me laugh so hard, haha.
It was a good movie, too, so go check it out... ;)

Jay Leno had all kinds of predatory animals on his show on Friday. In between animals, like while they were being walked out, the band would play Hakuna Matata.

My bio teacher made a reference to TLK this morning, we're talking about gene frequency and gene pools, and he just spouts out the "shallow end of the gene pool" line. I was impressed! quite an abscure quote! :wicked::evilgrin:

I've been posting in this thread kind of a lot lately, haha oh well.
I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert is one of my favorite books; I was rereading recently and came across this passage I forgot existed. Of course if you're not familiar with Stephen's sense of humor the following might come off as kinda weird, lol:
Not content to pour their poison across the silver screen, the LA studio heavyweights who run Broadway are now evidently shipping it directly to the Heartland.
Need proof? Just look at this headline out of Wisconsin from the Appleton News-Leader:
Disney's "The Lion King" is about to hit town
The staff at the Sommers Center for the Preforming Arts is preparing for the arrival of the Broadway hit. "Everybody is very excited," said town manager Barbara Kingholm.
Sadly, these milk-fed innocents clearly don't know what they're in for.
But I've been there, so let me warn you. The effects of live theater are way harder to shake off than movies. It's frighteningly intimate and, worst of all, you've got no control. It's like breaking up with a girl in person.
When I watch The Lion King at home, I can safely end the movie before Mufasa's untimely death. But when I bring my remote control to the live performance, it doesn't work. All I can do is watch helplessly while the hyenas execute their perfect crime.
"Slow down, you wildebeests! That lion is your king!"
Apparently yelling at the stage is verboten, even if to challenge Scar to pistols at dawn.
I am always ushered out at this point, but not soon enough to spare me a harsh dose of reality. You see, a movie you can dismiss when the lights come up.
But a play? Those animals were real people.
lol TL;DR.
