I think Fendi started this thread on Lea 2.0. Well, I'm bringing it back.
I personally love poetry because I find it fascinating what emotion and images people can pack into such few words. =)

Anyway, this is the thread for you to share poetry you've written! You can either give a link, or just post the whole thing.

Here are some of mine. The links go to my deviantArt account.

los angeles, bury me (http://fav.me/d2p195t) <-- Kinda morbid. Not sure what I was on when I wrote that one.
house of (http://fav.me/d2fqbps) <-- I never did come up with a suitable title for this one.
all work and no play makes jack a dull boy (http://fav.me/d2fv25o) <-- No more late night Stanley Kubrick binges for me. Kudos if you can tell what other movie of his inspired me. (;

Great stuff, love creationism too! My poems are always so..long...yours are small but carry a great weight, it's amazing.

Both of you have written some really nice poetry. I wish I wrote more, because when it comes out right, I do enjoy it. Unfortunately I haven't written any for quite some time now. Makes me sad :(

Just Another Sad Song
This is just another sad song,
to listen to all day long,
thinking of the one you love,
who doesn't love you back.

You’re sitting in your corner,
looking out the window,
at another sunny day,
but all you see is rain.

Was your love not enough for them?
Did you say something wrong?
Were you not good enough for them?
Or do something wrong?
Do they even know how deeply you care for them?

Lay your sad weary head down,
on your pillow and cry out,
those bitter hot tears from your eyes.

Wake up, gotta get up,
and hide the pain from the world again today.
Especially from them again.

Sorrow is weakness,
and you’ve got to be strong,
at least until you get back home,
on your own.
Alone.

You feel like your falling into a sea of sorrow,
your struggling to hold your head up,
and no one even knows, not truly at least.

Keep your chin up,
there’s other fish in the sea,
I know how you feel.
No. You. Don’t.
No you don’t.
The blizzard of a broken heart,
and the twister of hurt.
The tidal wave of sorrow,
and the landslide of regret.
You go out with your friends,
you tell your family that you’re fine.
But. You’re. Not.
But you’re not.

You got to get up and move on.
Are they kidding? they might as well ask you to move the stars.
You pray to god that they will come back, you’ll move on, or you’ll just die.
Or at least your treacherous heart will die.

Found myself in the pub at midnight on Friday waiting for a friend. Decided to get the pad and pen out for a bit of poetry... This isn't about myself by the way!

Beyond the Door

The night will quell the drunkard's roar
The solitary shadow clinging to the bar
In the hours to come the calm will fall
The lights will dim, be damned to them all

Silence descends across the room
As couples form amongst the gloom
The night time's chill can't get in here,
But the warmth won't last as the dawn draws near

Some will stroll, some will run
Never able to escape the sun
As the evening dew will chill the air
Some have little choice but to sit and stare

In all this noise the shadow clings
Without a partner, no song to sing
Waiting for the calm to come once more
To face what lays beyond the door

Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom is terrible, it was
Obviously phrased by someone who hasn’t ever fallen to its depths; there's no rock to stand on!
Could things get worse? It is
Kind of hard to imagine that to be possible.

But, do not lose hope and take heart that you are not alone,
Others have hit rock bottom and survived even
Thrived. Do not give in to the easy choice of drowning in the
Tempestuousness sea of fear and difficulty. Remember that adversity often strengthens us.
Oh, and you are not alone either, you have loved ones, an education, and God with you.
March onward brave soldier in the bitter winter, knowing spring lay beyond the horizon.
